    Found my first belt plate today! I can only find a few pictures online for reference but appears to be a 1820s era militia one piece. Any input about this piece would be greatly appreciated!

    Sring thaw has finally hit western Ny.got out for a couple digs and scored my first counterstamed largie. N j tracy is the mark.coin pretty rough and no legible date but cant complain.

    Ice and wind with a few keepers

    Hit a hammered out field site for an hour or so. Managed a few more finds. The ground is getting pretty crispy here in WNY. Any ideas on the button? I think it may be pewter, if so its pretty fancy. Happy hunting!

    Found this beauty today digging a now field 1857 tax map homesite. I have found a few of the 1820s style excelsiors but i believe this to be earlier. Any input would be greatly appreciated. There is no backmark on it

    Large cent and some relics

    Was able to sneak out for a few hours after work today. 1857 homesite now potato field thats been dug many times. Managed a largie and a cool glass type button. Any ideas on what the finger trigger type thing is. Its threaded inside the hole and trigger piece swings over inside of threaded hole

    Tattoo?compact half?

    Found this on a 1857 tax map site. Looks somewhat like a compact half of sorts but clearly says tattoo. Cant think of any larger words containing that. Have any of you seen anything like this?

    Rough potato field two piece button

    Found this button today and did my best to clean up,it was very crusty. Have not found one quite like it before. The more i look at what i can make out of the ray type design i think it says something but it probably just my eyes.....good luck out there guys!

    Early one sided thin cigar token?

    Got onto it pretty good today at a early 1800s site in western NY.1822 largie,1860 IHP and a silver mens ring band.The much smoke cigar co token is a new one for me.It seems to be quite early,one sided and thin.Haven't found anything on it on the web yet.

    First cut copper,need help with ID

    Found this badge a few years back,its found on a homesite from the 1857 tax map in western NY.I have yet to be able to id the origin or history behind it.it seems to have been 2 pieces that the back has deteriorated.

    Possible gripped edge liberty cap?

    Wife found this gem the other day.as ive been researching and cleaning up real slow and easy im noticing tool marks 180 degrees apart and doing some research theres a gripped edge 1797.Theres some written info but i cant find hardly any picture references.
