    RR token and?

A find of my brother’s yesterday in Clymer, PA. One side has PRR on it, the backside has a number, maybe 1892? Looks like it may be 2 coins rusted together. We’ve found pictures of RR tokens with the same PRR lettering, but are baffled with the backside.

    Home field advantage

I was goofing around in my yard today with a 15” coil. Found my oldest item to date, a pre-civil war button. This is the 2nd button I’ve found here. This one is a raised letter button that pre-dates the 1st one I dug. Also found a cool AAA badge. Could use some help dating this one.

    Bundle question

If one were to order a CTX “bundled” package, would it be better to go for the bundle with the extra 6” coil, or the bundle with the extra 17” coil? Mostly hunt farms, homesites, and parks. Only get near a beach once or twice a year.

Button, button, who’s got the button?

Swinging in the yard after work today. Nothing spectacular. A stinkin lincoln, an unknown car part, and a very old rusty door hinge. Decided to go in and get dinner and swing my way back to the door. I hit on a penny range signal and dug it. Never expected a pre-civil war button that’s for sure...

    No time like the present…..

I took my wife to dinner last night. Had a great meal and left all fat and happy. Driving home we drove past a section of sidewalk that was torn up in an old setion of town. I commented that I wondered how weird it makes me to be excited when I notice a fresh section of sidewalk tore up. Didn’t...

    Downside

One of the downsides of hunting in the historically rich former coal and coke capital of the world. Although, this is the biggest chunk of coke I’ve dug so far, so there’s that.

    First IHP

Dug my 1st indianhead today. 1890. It was really satisfying because it was the product of researching an area and identifying a well traveled foot path from the early 1900s. Also found an uncommon shotgun casing, American Eagle No 12, and an old cash register key. Not bad for a rookie

    Ideal axe head set up

Another practice day in the yard with my 600. I think I found the perfect setup for axe heads! Grnadma is going to be so happy I found the lid for that pot she was hunting for!

    Mystery signal

I’m still getting to know this new machine. Last night I was practicing with it in the yard and hit a spot that rang a deep, repeatable 38-39. It would only ring one direction if I rotated and checked at 90*. Dug and dug down more than a foot, but never found it. Even the pinpointer came up...
