    Depth Testing

    When they do videos to compare depth of 2 metal detectors, they will use similar size coils. Wouldn't they also have to use the same brand of coil to see which machine really signals deeper? Is it the coil or the machine that provides that extra depth?

    If you could design your own metal detector which features would you include? Would it have a computer screen? How many Khz would you have and what size coil would it include?

    Highly mineralized soil

    Someone on youtube has a video showing how hard it is to detect in the highly mineralized soil of Culpepper, Virginia. Does that mean to move up to a higher Khz? Wouldn't some of the Deep Tech brand perform nicely in that type of soil?

    In comparison for Depth and accuracy is it likely that there wouldn't be much difference between the Landstar and the Ranger pro? Also, would either one tend to consume battery power more rapidly?

    It's interesting how metal detecting has helped in crime solving over the years. Missing persons have been found by people using these machines. The Curtis Huntzinger case is one good example.

    I see someone is selling Fisher F5 detectors for $299.00 The Patriot sells for $100.00 more. Would the F5 be the better deal?
