Wife dug a great trade token

Unlisted variety Park City, Utah. We were invited to hunt an old house tear down by a buddy in a completely different town and my wife dug this! She was using the Legend with the 6" coil.

Help with an Eagle Button (again)?

A buddy dug this recently and the "eyelets" around it have us stumped. Any info especially date range would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Help with a button?

Found the front of this two piece button in an area old enough for seated coins in Utah. Something seems "off" about it, making me think it's civilian. I'd welcome any information. Thanks!

Loss of long time forum friend Monte Berry 😥

Just received news from Monte's family that he's passed away. Never shy to add his point of view, Monte made decades of impact in the metal detecting world. He just went by "Monte" here on Findmall. He'll be missed for sure. Moderators, please move this if it's not the appropriate place...

Has your Legend turned on attaching charging cable?

This has started happening with my wife's Legend. As soon as you plug it in to charge, it turns on. Anyone else have this happen?

    Scoop/handle for air travel?

I'd be grateful to hear advice on scoop & handle suggestions for air travel. I'm leaning towards CKG but am all ears for suggestions. Thanks!

    Wife gets a Legendary find

We hit one of our favorite permissions yesterday. It's one of those places you get skunked a lot but if you do pull a coin, it's gonna be an older one. Lisa bagged her first ever Morgan with her new Legend using the 6" coil. 1904-S one of the better dates.

    Grandson's 1st Silver

We had the grandkids for a sleep-over on Easter Sunday. On Monday, my wife had plans to take them skating as they are out of school for the week. Seizing the opportunity, I decided to do a little park hunting. My grandson came up to me and asked "Papa, can I go metal detecting with you...

    Equinox and Legend Silver

These finds are actually from 2 Sundays ago. My wife bought a Legend and is enjoying it so far. The pic of her SLQ doesn't do it justice. I managed a silver of my own with the Nox 800. Found at a 1901 homesite.

    Snake in the grass

Did a quick spin at a local school and found this. Probably the ugliest junker ring I've ever dug!

One year with the Nox 800

Received the Nox 800 with the small coil last August. I hunt the mining ghost towns and demos more than anything else and they are always loaded with heavy trash and iron. Didn't set any silver records but had one of my best years ever finding trade tokens. Also got my first trime and 2 cent...

14 cents including a first for me

My wife and I just returned home from a road trip through Idaho Wyoming and Montana. We got on two permissions for short hunts. The key date 31S wheat is hers found with her Racer 2. I was very fortunate to get my first Two Center using the Nox 800. A little rough but I'll take it! About a...

If it seems to good to be true...

As much as I wanted this one to be the real deal, it didn't add up. Passed the acid test but the color on the rubbing stone didn't look right. Moved on to specific gravity test and got 8.5. Not anywhere near the density for gold. There's plenty of online posts about these being faked in China...

Detecting gave me a little HOPE today!

Took a short spin through the park trees today with the Nox 800. The ring is 14k with 3 tiny diamonds on each side of "Hope".

    Coil Stiffeners?

I'm seeing lots of videos of red coil stiffeners being used lately, especially by beach hunters. I am curious to know if these are worthwhile? I haven't had any problems with my 11" or 6" and am careful not to lean/put weight on them. If they really do help, I'd pay up for them just in case. I'd...

    Are you kidding me!??

Posted a few weeks ago looking for tips on Florida beaches. Got the chance to get out briefly at Cocoa beach after arriving little late. My Nox 800 ran like a champ in the wet and dry. Just a little clad and trash to show along with this cruel fake. Had fun and depending on what Tropical Storm...

    .925 in the park

Always wanted to dig one of these Claddagh rings. The parks around here are like ant farms on the weekends so, I thought I'd make a quick run around the trees Monday focusing on shallow targets. Got the usual clad, pull tabs and trash but was happy to score this. Rang up as a 23/24 on the Nox...

Travelling to Florida looking for info

I will be spending a week in Orlando soon and will have a few days to get out with my detector. Not asking for anyone to give up there great spots but would sincerely appreciate any advice on where I can go to do a little beach hunting (or areas to avoid for safety). I'll be using an Equinox...

    Looking for ID help. Military?

This suspender clasp was dug in an 1860's ghost town. It was near where I found the general staff button with an "Extra Quality" backmark. The shield and stars make me curious. Anyone ever seen this one before?

Couple of decent tokens this past weekend

Been looking for scraps in a lot where several old homes were demo'd and has been picked over for 2 months before we got the chance to try our luck. I've pulled six mostly modern tokens in the past 2 weeks but hardly any coins. These two made my day however. The scalloped is from a town about 50...
