How are the Simplex wireless headphones?

Just wondering about the audio quality of the headphones included with the plus package. How do they sound? Only asking because the waterproof headphones I’ve had for the ATPro didn’t sound very good, in my opinion. Just curious as to whether one can expect decent quality sound.

Yet another question about the disc!

I'm aware that you can only disc up to foil, leaving all the pull-tabs, canslaw and the rest of the non-ferrous trash. But when you get a high tone on a piece of canslaw, does it sound different than the tone from a coin? With my Vaquero I can hear the difference between coins and jagged...

    New ATPro has a change

You can see it on Garrett’s website now. See what’s new?

Beep and dig for trashy parks

Does anyone besides Tesoro make a beep an dig that can disc to the levels necessary for typical North American parks and school yards? Basically I’m talking about foil and can slaw. From what I’ve read, it seems the Deeptechs can only disc out iron. Is that true? Thanks, Dan

Can the ATMax find a dime on edge?

https://youtu.be/ejqDD95u1Mo There is a video showing the ATGold not being able to hit a dime on edge. Here is what I found with the Max. Thanks, Dan

    ATMax first impressions

I finally picked up my US version ATMax in Detroit this weekend. I put it together last night and noticed it was quite noisy. I’ve read quite a bit on the ATMax Facebook pages about a small batch of bad coils. So I swapped coils with my ATPro and sure enough it was very quiet. Just my luck I got...

    I finally pulled the trigger

I have an ATMax on the way. Thanks Bart. I have a bunch of coils and accessories for my ATPro which will also work on the Max, so it was a logical decision. I think I'll invest in the NEL Thunder coil too. I love the Storm on my Pro. I went with the US version because I prefer the tone break...

Can there be too many settings on a detector?

Like everyone else, I've been watching the videos on the new releases, and I noticed one where a silver quarter on the surface was not being seen by the machine. Comments were that the operator was new and he used the wrong setting. Maybe more has been said since then, I don't know because I...

ATMax and the elevated nail test

Has anyone tried the elevated nail test with their ATMax? I'd sure link to see a video before I pull the trigger.

    ATMax International tone break

Does anyone with the International version have a problem with the tone break set so low? Aren't you getting a high tone for pulltabs and can slaw? I run an American ATPro where the high tone doesn't start until the penny range. I understand why the international version makes sense in Europe...

    Matron early copper penny

I'm not real familiar with old US coins, but today I dug what Google tells me is a Matron early copper penny minted from 1816 to 1839. The date is worn, so I don't know the exact date. Is this considered a rare find? Found it in Canada, so that's kind of interesting.

New NEL Storm coil first time out

We finally got some rain to soften up the ground, and my replacement Z-Lynk transmitter arrived today. That sounded like a perfect reason to go out and try my new NEL Storm coil. I only got about an hour before it got dark, but I was able to find a nice silver ring. 6th silver ring from the same...

Z Lynk transmitter quit on me

Has anyone else had this happen? It was recently charged, and it was working fine for about an hour and a half this morning. Then nothing. The red LED is off. I've already sent an email off to Garrett, but in the meantime I would be awesome if there's some kind of "trick" to get this working. I...

Spanning nine decades in 2 hours

Took the ATPro out to a new spot tonight. Actually, it's a spot I detected 27 years ago with my Freedom 2 Plus but I never went around the boulevards back then. We had a nice long rain yesterday so the ground was very nice to dig in. Anyway, I dug 39 coins and a bit of trash, and managed to find...

Tesoro die hard has gone over to the dark side

I finally got a chance to pick up my ATPro that I purchased from Richard a couple of weeks ago. This thing looks brand new, hardly even any scratches on the bottom of the coil. Anyway, I didn't know what to expect because my last Garrett was a GTI2500 and it was, well to be polite let's just say...

    Garrett Z-Lynk on a Tesoro

I just added this to my Deleon, and I'm giving it two thumbs way up. I cannot perceive any difference over being plugged into the machine. Just thought I would mention that for anyone on the fence. I believe it's a worthwhile investment. Dan

    New coil on my Deleon

I bought the new 11x8 widescan coil and got out with it for about an hour after work today. I went to a neighbourhood school that has been closed for years, and a place I've hit regularly when testing new machines. There is a small front yard that has produced 80 coins and a silver ring. I...

    Lots of F75's

I notice that there seems to be a variety of F75 models available. The F75LTD, the F75SE, the F75 anniversary edition and the F75 gold edition. I notice the gold edition seems to be discounted, Is it the same F75 that came out years ago? Or does the gold edition have new features over the...

    Compadre validates the Deleon

There is a hill at a local park that has produced two silver rings and numerous coins with my Deleon. Today I thought I would set my Compadre at foil and meticulously search for anything I may have missed with the Deleon. I dug lots of pulltabs, can slaw, a couple of zincs and other assorted...

    Deleon does well in 2014

Okay, I'm calling it quits for the year. Winter is starting to show it's ugly face. Here is what I found in 2014. 90% of this was with the Deleon. Total coins: 4058 Toonies ($2) 24 Loonies ($1) 127 Quarters 296 Dimes 412 Nickels 205 Pennies 2994 Total...
