    Considering Deus2

Posted previously that I have an Etrac and am satisfied with it but a few factors have me seriously looking at the Deus. 1. Weight. A hard life in agriculture has left me with back, hip and shoulder problems. Tried swingy thingy but too cumbersome. 2. Depth. With the 8x6 SEF coil I feel...

    Minelab Etrac vs others?

Owned an etrac since I believe 2012. It has exceeded my expectations since it’s unboxing. I hunt almost exclusively old farm sites that are absolutely infested with iron in all shapes and sizes. Hunting in two tone ferrous with a small sef 8x6 coil has produced more finds while retaining my...

    Rifle ID

Bucket lister. Have found several toy guns over the years but this carbine action is for real. Man if I could only find the barrel. Lock was a nice parting touch on an old farm site.

    couple of observations

Still consider myself a newbie with the etrac, but have put about 100 hours on it almost exclusively in ttf with goes4ever settings. The sites that I hunt, which are old homesteads, really became workable after getting the etrac and running in ttf. I often hear people say to ignore meter...

    etrac sensitivity

Have been out 4 times with my new etrac this spring. Been running in ttf with goes4ever settings with sensitivity at auto +3. Have noticed my sensitity is always at 26 and have never seen it change. Have hunted in 4 different locations all loaded with iron(old farmsteads). Is this normal...

Belated Introduction & E-trac Settings Inquiry

Live in north central, North Dakota in the great white north. Have been metal detecting on and off for 34 years. Started at 10 years old in 1978 with a Whites coin master I received for Christmas. Graduated to a Garrett Freedom III CDC in 1989. Found allot of coins with that machine in...

e-trac to compliment an exterra 70

Have an exterra 70 with 3khz and 18.75 coils. Hunt primarily old farmsteads which have an abundance of iron. Have the ability to pick up a new etrac with gift cards with no out of pocket cost(can't swing a ctx just too much money). Will the etrac running in ttf be much more effective in the...

    Finally, first silver

Posted awhile back on not finding silver with my x70. Well, the drought is over. Found an 1876 25 ore silver Norwegian coin. Allot of Norwegian immigrants in my area. Wish I had a digital camera working to take a pic. Maybe in the future. It rang out at 38 on the x70.

    another ground balance ?

I detect in the midwest, northcentral north dakota to be exact. When manual ground balancing with the 3 khz coil I typically get from 22 to 28. Would a 18.75 coil work better with the higher mineralization? I have the 5x10 and 6" in 18.75. Just curious if they would perform better, or if the...

    Garrett service #1

Have a Garrett freedom three CDC metal detector with a bad coil. Called and was told to send it in and would have to replace it with a different coil as the one I have is no longer made. Would cost around $80.00 which I felt was fair as the detector and coil are 21 years old. Lo and behold...

    purchasing etrac-relegating x-70 to backup

Have had an xterra 70 for two years and it has been an excellent detector. However, even with the small 18.75 coil I haven't been able to find much in amongst the iron. Most of my sites are farm fields and pastures where old homesteads, schools and towns used to be. They are loaded with...

    severe silver drought

Had my x-terra 70 for two summers now(live close to Canadian border, so limited season). I have probably went out a total of 20 times hunting old farm homesteads. In that time I have found 29 wheat pennies, 2 Indian head pennies, 1 1940's Jefferson nickle and one buffalo nickle. Hunted about...

No longer bummed out, it finally arrived!!!:clapping:

Gone over Easter, but arrived home to find my X70 in my entryway(left a note to have it dropped off at parents). So, after over a month and much consternation I finally got a chance to use it for an hour. Only took about 5 minutes to put together, and another 5 minutes to GB, noise cancel...

Bummed Out, Xterra 70 back ordered.

Ordered an xterra 70 that was due to be shipped on the 16th and received a backorder slip with my extra coils. I've been lurking on this board for several months and never heard of this. Not a big deal I guess as the ground will be frozen for at least another two weeks. Wasn't aware that the...
