Democratic Leadership responsible for majority of Covid-19 deaths

I couldn't help but notice posts from a person who obviously celebrates the increasing number of Covid-19 related deaths, blaming each of them on President Trump. But I think it is important that we actually look at the Rule of Law to learn who has the LEGAL responsibility in a Public Health Emergency. What role do State and Local governments have in protecting the health of their citizens? Our Tenth Amendment states: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures:
Responsibilities in a Public Health Emergency
The preservation of the public health has historically been the responsibility of state and local governments. Clarity in leadership is crucial in a joint federal, state, and local response to any event which could cause harm to the public's health. The public health authority of the states derive from the police powers granted by their constitutions and reserved to them by the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The basis for the federal governments’ authority to prescribe a quarantine and other health measures is based on the Commerce Clause, which gives Congress exclusive authority to regulate interstate and foreign commerce. To be specific, a comprehensive public health response to avert the spread of highly contagious diseases may call for the isolation of people, the quarantining of a community exposed to the infectious disease or both. Quarantine typically refers to the “separation of individuals who have been exposed to an infection but are not yet ill from others who have not been exposed to the transmissible infection. In contrast, isolation refers to the “separation of infected individuals from those who are not infected.” Primary quarantine authority typically resides with state health departments and health officials; however, the federal government has jurisdiction over interstate and foreign quarantine. The governor of an affected state must first respond to the disaster and execute the state’s emergency plan before requesting that the president declare a major disaster or emergency, and the governor must certify that the magnitude of the emergency exceeds the state’s capability.''

So which party is governing the areas responsible for the highest death rates from Covid-19? Here is a chart showing the number of Covid-19 deaths, per 100,000 persons, as of yesterday.

You will note that NINE of the TEN highest death rates are in populations governed by Democrats.

New Jersey - Democrat Governor. New York - Democrat Governor. Connecticut - Democrat Governor. Massachusetts - Republican Governor. Rhode Island - Democrat Governor. District of Columbia - Democrat Mayor. Louisiana - Democrat Governor. Michigan - Democrat Governor. Illinois - Democrat Governor. Pennsylvania - Democrat Governor.

midalake had posted: 11 more days ANOTHER 10,000 dead. NOW 130,000 dead. Don't worry!!!!!!!! It will only be 9-10 days now for the next 10,000 dead.
Cognitive decline must be contagious in the liberal ranks. I posted deaths because you were gloating about DEAD people, not cases of covid. And 9 of the highest 10 DEATH rates are in populations governed by DEMOCRATS. And these 9 areas governed by Democrats represent 88% of deaths in these highest 10 areas.

I posted deaths because
You posted about deaths BECAUSE, all of the first states infected WERE DEMOCRATIC. Therefore in your little pea brain "somehow" the root of all evil at this point. BUT, we are in the 1st inning of this virus...........ENJOY!
OH, BTW the first states infected would have the most deaths at this point.

BUT any moron knows the virus does not discriminate. OR DO THEY......

Louisiana, Michigan, Illinois are all in your "top ten". Yet none of them were among the first States infected. Facts beat name calling every time.

Yep. Glad we don't live in New York, St. Louis, L.A., Denver, Baltimore, and the other RAT infested cities run amock by the democrats. Seattle and Minneapolis resemble some post apocalyptic movies that we've seen. The U.S. Is closer to becoming a third world turd pile than I can recall. All, thanks to the commie dems destroying our country.

I think we can start calling it the New York Virus, instead of Covid-19, because New York was the epicenter of the Pandemic for the rest of the nation.
You can give the governor of New York credit for that.

But Digger, stupid is as stupid does--or says. :drinking: You are exactly right--Constitutionally, the GOVERNORS of the states are responsible for the health and safety of its citizens far more than the president is, i.e., the 10th Amendment which says, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people.

That means people like Cuomo, Whitmer, Newsom, et al, are the ones who dropped the ball big time.

Remember---Trump TRIED to keep the virus from coming to America and was chastised for it; he TRIED to get Cuomo to quarantine New York, but Cuomo refused, and what happened?

New Jersey/New York: #1 and #2.

Let's look at how many of those deaths are related to nursing homes--nearly HALF (62,000) of the ENTIRE NATION'S C-19 deaths are in nursing homes.

Let's look at how many occurred in New York and Michigan alone: AT LEAST 6,250 in New York; over 2000 in Michigan; In Minnesota, 81% of their cases occur in nursing homes, and as of May, 2020, they were still sending infected patients back to nursing homes.

That's not the president's doings, it's all on the governors. :drinking:

The CDC is now counting POSSIBLE Covid cases. If you test positive then they automatically assume that there are at least fifteen more. So the infection rate is at least multiplied by a factor of fifteen. Government math to inflate the cases.

Problem is Liberal Media always gives cover to Liberal Democrats. There could be a real serious crisis and you’d never know if a Democrat is in office.

So true Sir Kraemer,,, think back a few years with the Hildabeast,, at Benghazi ,,, and a freaking youtube video was to blame for the deaths of a few American military members and Ambassadors ,,,, if it were not for the heroics of those men ,,, saving the lives of those people and themselves ,, we may have never heard about that attack,, or their deaths.

Liberal Democrats divide up the country by groups. They could care less about the individual. Conservatives are more concerned for the individual. This is the most obvious difference in the Parties.

What groups? What proof do you have of democrats not caring for individuals? Thanks!

Mistake, I have neither the time nor the desire to educate you on something that is common knowledge. Google the differences in the parties and you might(?)
learn something.
