:detecting:STOCK COIL 9 "vs. 7.5KHZ CONCENTRIC COIL 3KHz

hello everyone, here where I live the terrain varies between 36 and 42 in groundbalance, the only coil that I have is 5x10 dd elipiticall but I wanted to buy another and I'm caught between 7.5khz stock coil or concentric coil 3khz
I usually detect forest in open fields, look for old coins, buttons, medals and relics
Please help me choose the best
Miguel

You have milder soil than I hunt in, and I like the depth on coins and relics thatI get with the 3kHz coil.

I just wish that Minelab would make (or licence someone else to) a large 3kHz DD coil....but I'm not holding my breath.

All I know, is that I'll buy the first one that I see. Regardless of who makes it.

If you need more information, let us know what the metallic content is of those targets you're looking for and we'll try to help you through this. HH Randy

hello, most currencies are what I look for copper, silver, bronze, nickel, of various sizes, also looking for vintage military buttons, silver and bronze medals, in general all kinds of things done with existing materials in Roman times .
thank you

Either the 7.5 kHz or the 3 kHz will detect those materials quite well. The one advantage that the 3 kHz may have is to provide a distinct audio harmonic on deeply buried iron. If you hunt in multiple tone with zero discrimination, this is a big help. But if you hunt with fewer tones or with some ferrous discrimination, it won't make any difference. JMHO HH Randy
