Jimbog's post is what I've experienced as well, some fields are rotated every so often. Finding the "lanes" where the trash is seems to be is a good place to start. I swing the F70 which is somewhat similar to the G2. I dont dig, except with a screwdriver, I found 6 silver rings on one field, highschool, on the sidelines. one silver necklace random in the playing area, lots of weird toss coins, good luck coins, or whatever, mostly foreign. I've been approached by the caretakers, and they appreciate the screwdriver, trash pick-ups, car keys returned, etc.
Demographics have changed, Soccer is now the sport of choice, whereever the moms sit, any available shade, bleachers, parking, concessions, sidewalks are primo spots. You can use Google earth to find sports fields in your area, or even Mapquest, just put it on sattelite view and have a look. You can plan how to hunt it, and see where the most likely spots are from the eagle eye view.. Lots of your finds should be shallow, eye, and possibly bills blown up on the downwind fencelines...Soccer field hunting is really a profitable place for us..Good luck!
