If a Democrat Were President

Isn't this article the truth:

Pollak said, “I look around and I see politicians — but not just politicians, primarily the media, really — because it’s the media who are setting us at odds.”

“I see people running around trying to blame one another,” continued Pollak, “and this game started — make no mistake about it — it started on the left. But to say that it started on the left and to say that it started in the media really are one and the same.”

News media would conduct themselves differently with a Democrat president, estimated Pollak.

Pollak continued, “One thing that would not be happening if a Democrat was president is that you would not see the media trying to pick apart everything that the president was doing. You would not see them criticizing everything the president said. You would not see them asking questions in the briefing room, constantly trying to assign blame to the president. You would not see them making up fake news, or reporting statements out of context, or trying to frighten the public. You would not see them looking backward in the middle of a crisis and asking what the president could have done to stop it.”

“You would have seen [news media] rallying the public around the Democratic president,” Pollak added. “You would have seen them calling for patriotism. You would have seen them highlighting survivors. You would have seen them interviewing healthcare workers, and truckers, and grocers, and farmers. You would have seen them lamenting the fact that their wonderful Democratic president — whoever it would be, Obama or someone else — had to have their legacy challenged, had to be faced with such a crisis when they were doing so well up until now.”

Pollak went on, “And you would have seen them calling the country to unite under the flag and move forward. We would have seen the media pushing for national unity around the president, even in an election year and, perhaps for a Democratic president, especially in an election year.”

Very prevelant during Trumps and Clintons debates. I remember one where Lester Holt slanted without Shame for Hillery. Trump got honked off. "Two against one, thats OK, I'll beat you both !" So after nearly 4 yrs or better of the Media & the Left trying to over throw the goverment ------ Trumps still Standing !

I think most intelligent people understand the leftist media and socialist’ politicians are of the same ilk.

The entertaining (and pathetic) point comes when you see the media and Pelosi ridiculing Trump for something one day, they it comes out they had the same stance themselves.

Another I particularly like is when they rant and scream about something Trump does, then later on it turns out Trump was right—they must really hate that.

You know, there’s a video of Pelosi standing behind Trump, and tearing up her copy of Trump’s speech during the SOTU.

Trump announced his commitment to dealing with the C-Virus during the SOTU, and there you have Pelosi tearing up his speech.

How childish. How pathetic. But, what do you expect. That’s what Libs do, and that’s what their voters want.

SteveO, I disagree. Bet that surprises you, eh? While all that Pollack says may be true, there are two sides to most things including this, so this article maybe doesn't represent the whole truth.

This is my take of the bigger picture:

For the most part, American politics has become American football. Two opposing teams made up of politicians and their media supporters on either side. Each team take turns trying to move the ball up the field to score points, the politicians passing and running with the ball, the media working hard as part of the team blocking, running cover, rushing the quarterback.

In this article, Polllak is complaining that the opposing team is pummelling his quarter back in every play. He is a blocker and it is his job to prevent that. When the other team has the ball, it will be his job to rush through in every play and pummel the quarterback of the opposing team.

So far so good?

The problem with this, and perhaps the larger truth, is American politics has become a spectator sport with a line up of superstar politicians and superstar media on each team.

Whatever happened to a government as it was intended.... of the people, by the people, for the people?

Whatever happened to the media as it was intended... a free press?

Here is where the democrat voters get spanked.

So you do the math and take a look at where the stimulus went....
And enjoy the pittance you get.

American population: 330,483,530

Stimulus bill: $2,000,000,000,000

Dividing the cost by every person in America is $6,051.74.

The government could have given every person over $6,000, but instead will give $1,200 to each adult under a certain income.

Because bailouts.

Wanna know where the missing 96% of your tax dollars went?

$300,000,000 for Migrant and Refugee Assistance pg 147

$10,000 per person for student loan bailout

$100,000,000 to Nasa, because, who knows why.

$20,000,000,000 to the USPS, because why not

$300,000,000 to the Endowment for the Arts / because why not.

$300,000,000 for the Endowment for the Humanities/ because no one even knew that was a thing

$15,000,000 for Veterans Employment Training / for when the GI Bill isn't enough

$435,000,000 for mental health support

$30,000,000,000 for the Department of Education stabilization fund/ because that will keep people employed

$200,000,000 to Safe Schools Emergency Response to Violence Program

$300,000,000 to Public Broadcasting / NPR has to be bought by the dems

$500,000,000 to Museums and Libraries / Who knows how we are going to use it

$720,000,000 to Social Security Admin / but get this only 200,000,000 is to help people. The rest is for admin costs

$25,000,000 for Cleaning supplies for the Capitol Building / on page 136

$7,500,000 to the Smithsonian for additional salaries

$35,000,000 to the JFK Center for performing Arts

$25,000,000 for additional salary for House of Representatives

$3,000,000,000 upgrade to the IT department at the VA

$315,000,000 for State Department Diplomatic Programs

$95,000,000 for the Agency of International Development

$300,000,000 for International Disaster Assistance

$90,000,000 for the Peace Corp pg 148

$13,000,000 to Howard University pg 121

9,000,000 Misc. Senate Expenses pg 134

$100,000,000 to Essential Air carriers pg 162 This of note because the Airlines are going to need billions in loans to keep them afloat. $100,000,000 is chump change

$40,000,000,000 goes to the Take Responsibility to Workers and Families Act This sounds like it's direct payments for workers. Pg 164

$1,000,000,000 Airlines Recycle and Save Program pg 163

$25,000,000 to the FAA for administrative costs pg 165

$492,000,000 to National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) pg 167

$526,000,000 Grants to Amtrak to remain available if needed through 2021 pg 168 (what are the odds that doesn't go unused)

Hidden on page 174 the Secretary has 7 days to allocate the funds & notify Congress

$25,000,000,000 for Transit Infrastructure pg 169

$3,000,000 Maritime Administration pg 172

$5,000,000 Salaries and Expensive Office of the Inspector General pg 172

$2,500,000 Public and Indian Housing pg 175

$5,000,000 Community Planning and Development pg 175

$2,500,000 Office of Housing
The democrat view points prove it is philosophically driven by socialist/communist ideology. It appears you agree with their view point.

Yes, and Nancy was Treasonous when she shredded the Presidents speech after the SOTU speech. She wasn't held accountable for her actions, but just think for a moment what would have happened if a Republican had shredded Obama's speech. The dem's would have been calling for their head on a platter. In very short order. Sorta like a One Way Street. O Lawd!

A Big problem in American politics is that many in the two parties particularly the Democratic party, not all, but many forgot why they were elected by the people in the first place. To try to work in Washington across the aisle for the Betterment of the American people and our country. Not for oneself, Not for the party, Not for notoriety, but for the American people. Case in point: last election here in Georgia, there was a young Democrat running for state senator. He looked as if he had just graduated high school. His platform and his TV ads said: "I'll hold Trump accountable". Not President Trump, but Trump. He looked as if he was barely old enough to tie his shoes and wipe his own nose. This is the mindset of many. Not that I'll go to Washington and try to work for You who elected me and for what's best for our country, but I'll fight against the President with every ounce of energy I have or can generate because Our Party Hates the President, his administration, and anything that has to do with conservatives or the Republican Party as a whole. All one has to do is simply ask some of the leaders in the Democratic party such as: Nancy Pelosi (squeaker of the house), Chucky boy Schumer, Nadler, Maxine Waters, and a host of others. Ever pay attention to how their party acts during one of the Presidents SOTU speeches? Like a bunch of mad, undisciplined, unhappy, Spoiled Brats. This is the Truth as I and I believe a few others see it.

Don't show up to debate Trump thinking it's for President of the Bird club. Deep down you and the DNC know Biden doesn't want any part of sharing a stage with theTrumper. Even with the Monitors giving him the answers.

True enough, Confetrit, but can't help seeing that as long as the people can be kept divided, they can be driven like sheep for the fleecing. When the republican politicians are done sheering one side, the democrat politicians are happy to step up to go to work on the other side. Meanwhile keep believing what the right wing and the left wing media are telling you every minute of every day... that the other side are idiots who hate everything that you hold dear and the people you need to fear in this world, the people you need to hate, are your brothers and sisters, your neighbours, your co-workers, your fellow Americans across the state and across the country who vote differently than you.

The choice I have in Canada is pretty much always the same as yours. For decades, I have not voted for anyone I thought was competent and worthy of the office, always, always, always, it has been a vote against someone who I thought was absolutely NOT competent and worthy. That's the choice we are always offered, bad or worse and we're left to make the call. Sad.

SteveCan, If we are playing a football game scenario. .. . . .. . . .. . . seems like 2 teams are playing against 1. . .. . . Dems & Media verses Trump.
Take a step back and look at it SteveO.... the dems and the left media play as a team, the republicans and the right wing media play as a team. We're expected to do our part... pay the admission to keep the game going, sit on the sidelines and cheer for one team or the other.

That the game continues while people are dying is astonishing beyond belief.

SteveO, here's a good article about it with some timeline information:

Jan 14: World Health Organization (WHO): " Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus-19"

Jan 30: Who changed their tune: " ……." human-to-human transmission has occurred outside Wuhan and outside China.:drinking:

Jan 31: "" Trump instituted a ban on people coming from China. ""

Keep in mind that between Jan 31st and Feb 4th, Libtards were insulting Trump over the travel ban, calling him all sorts of names, ridiculing him, while most were focused on his impeachment.

Feb 4: Trump's SOTU address: “Protecting Americans’ health also means fighting infectious diseases. We are coordinating with the Chinese government and working closely together on the coronavirus outbreak in China. My administration will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”

Feb 4.: Pelosi rips up Trumps SOTU speech calling it a "manifest of mistruths"

As I stated in my original post, I don't think these facts are lost on most intelligent, self-thinking people. I think they ARE lost on a segment of society who believe as fact everything the media tells them. These people, truly, have lost the ability to think for THEMSELVES.

That's why I don't tolerate liberal B.S.. Life is too short to waste time on their drivel--it's one of the reasons I generally don't even read (let alone open) posts generated by Trolls.

SO MUCH disinformation in this thread. THIS is all you need to know. Trump listened to NO ONE. Trumps actions were a COMPLETE failure.

I do agree Steve.. We have the same issue with left and right.. and I cannot tell you the last time I voted for someone .. It is always against the other fellow..

but from my viewing, the vitriol I have seen from the left politicians, media and institutions far surpasses that of the right.. When was the last time that

you heard of a left leaner being forbidden to speak at a University.. I cannot name one time.. but there are multiple times that right leaners have been

prevented from giving speeches at Unis.. [Ann Coulter, Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens to name a few..]

And the whole Democrat impeachment debacle.. they just would not stop..

I wish that we could get co-operation between the two sides...but so far, I have seen no sign of any give .. heck.. even the stimulus bill.. which party loaded it up with

pork barrel funding [maybe both did.. but I have only heard about the left.] My favourite example is the 25 million given to the Kennedy centre; they they let everyone go..

Something is definitely wrong with that sort of politics
