Pitch tone

I have used it several times on heavy Aluminum trash sites with the Tone Break set around 40 and Audio Gain at 1. Recovery 6-7 in 4kHz. It works quite well. I need to try it more on other types of sites.

Correct me if I am wrong but it just seems like 2 tone VCO to me. I like it when the iron trash is overwhelming. It picks out nonferrous very well. I don't use it much but it is a nice tool in the toolbox.
How do you get that to work ?
You mean iron audio ?

Two tones that you can set the volume, tone frequency and breakpoint and the sound gets louder and raises in pitch, the stronger the signal and the shallower the target, kind of like a Gold Bug Pro or F19 if you are familiar with them.

I don't think Pitch tone is less filtered. It is the most modulated of all the tone choices. It seems a bit different than traditional VCO. I like it for concentrating on deeper targets in a trashy site. I have only used it with a high Tone Break. I need to try it with my C Disc pattern that I use for coin hunting Parks & vacant lots. It would not be my choice for learning the Legend but once you get comfortable and have an ear for the machine. I normally hunt in 60 Tones, A or G Disc.

If I’m correct P tone setting is above 60 tones and introduced in 1.11 version. Its not mentioned in 07 or 09…….
Not tried it yet tho…

Sadly my hearing suks. Couldn't enjoy my minelabs broad audio because of it hardly used em. I love how I can now adjust the tones upper limit. Definitely enjoying my Legend. When I get free of protecting my chemically imbalanced wife from gov entities. Forceably locked up in a third facility.
I'll give the pitch a try. Nice sales pitch guys. 😊

Actually it's just the opposite. I run in a Park almost exclusively and if you've hunted a Park you know it's plastered with almost any metal known to man. I used to hunt in 2~4 tones and that's why I'm successful in going back over the same areas I hunted before. 60 tones has helped me "hear" the distinctions between tones, i.e. it identifies and separates those tones. Also I almost exclusively hunt in 15Khz and not smf's.

Do you notch some out? Or just deal with a constant barrage out noise?
First of all , you slow down. Even with high recovery rates the machine still has to be given the time to do it's work. With time the constant changing of tones almost becomes like a secondary threshold and picking the interesting tones is where the reward lies. Good tones become unmistakable , it's the ones that are unfamiliar and don't match the VDI that will start really getting your attention. I notch out a few VDIs comparable to where I have never found anything with other detectors and depending on the frequency I am using. One of the really nice features about the Legend is how easily you can accept and reject VDIs.

if you go into the setting to choose how many tones you want 2,4,60 and pitch tones, just go into the number of tones you want and keep pushing the up arrow while in the tone settings and you will see (P) which is pitch tones, I use pitch tones quite often
