SunRay makes a fine in-line probe indeed; however, if you ever *do* change detectors -- therein lies the rub, and that's the only downside my post addressed that you won't get with a Uniprobe. Yes, the Uniprobe is a PI, but in that respect, you're not affected by ground mineralization.
Yup, there's always those dang tradeoffs with every piece of equipment we use. Use whatever has fewer downsides for you yourself.
