A find from a couple years ago. Prominent knight's helmet with plumes. No identifying text or numbers. Gilt brass with military style prong attachment. According to the experts it is not US, not British, not Hessian... <img src="/metal/html/shrug.gif" border=0 width=37 height=15 alt=":shrug">
I believe an identical item was dug in Hamilton Canada about the same time.
 
This is one of a pair of cloke "closers"
They were close to the neck and a light chain ran between them. They were also sometimes used on "Great Coats"
I would guess this one was used by a band.
