I don't have any trouble with 60. I remember reading somewhere that it was more than just a programing issue to have the broader vdi scale. I have had Fisher and Whites machines that had 100 and found the ability to differentiate on those machines was not sufficient to warrant that number of numbers. Items in my soil have varied enough signatures that you have to dig everything in a range already and I see no advantage to adding more numbers to that range.

Ive pulled more silver rings with the Fisher F75 than the Legend. NOT THE LEGEND’S FAULT. The large intramural field I have access to has been well detected and rings have been mostly recovered. The smaller chains are what I think are still out there and I need to get out there and run single frequencies until I find the deeper or passed over signals.

What frequencies find small chains ? 20,, 40 ?

While 4khz would not be my favorite and might even miss some small chains, It doesn't really take high frequencies to find them, just attention to bad sounds. The Compadre is known for being effective at finding small chains when disc is dropped all the way. The bigger the links, the higher they may read, but the sound is still "scratchy?". For me, all metal makes it easier to identify them although if they are laid out in a straight line, they sound like a nail when swept long ways.

From what I’m reading and from what I can confirm…… if silver then 4 or 10 and if gold then 20-40. It should all react but some freqs seem to to hit just a bit better than others.
