When Someones Tells You About Places They Played At When They Were Young, You Got To Check It Out!

When someone tells you where they used to prospect, fish or toboggan, those words could be gold. Years ago, someone told me of a tobogganing hill somewhere in Edmonton where he used to go in the winter many years ago. Today I grabbed my Garrett Vortex detector and checked it out and was rewarded with gold and silver!👍You just never know.......................

Out today on a cold windy blusterly day detecting a hillside with overgrown grass and sapplings. The 5 x 8 ripper coil mannages to slide through a lot of that overgrown grass producing the odd high signal.

It looks like the kids were having a great time doing many things.

An old gold filled locket came out of a hole. At first, I thought that it was just some sort of medallion. Upon closer inspection, I found a hinge at the bottom ad realized that it was made up of two halves. I carefully opened it up at home with a sharp blade and saw what was at one time......an old photo inside. I also dug up a vintage lipstick, which I managed to research and ID.

Two silver quartrs, both the same year gave a nice high audio in the high 80's. The metal plate came off an old pair of wooded skiis.

I had an excellent week getting gold. The river is lowest at this time of year exposing some rich gravel bars.

Thanks for the support. Much appreciated. If it wasn't for detecting and prospecting, I'd probably be a hunk of lard in front of a TV painting my arteries with plaque.
