In some places multi frequency may be better than single frequency, but not in all. I took the Anfibio to a site I found that held a lot of colonial coins, relics,etc..small yard type grassy area in the park, about a half acre.. tore it up for two weeks straight, not a signal left.. literally two dozen colonial coppers, half cents, king George coins, Reale,etc.. So, I figured a multi frequency would get what was left, bought a equinox 800.. went to the site, and couldn’t run past 15 sensitivity, emi was so bad…Threw the equinox in the truck, and that ended that..
So, although I agree simultaneous multi frequency machines have a edge in some places they don’t have the edge in all places..Thanks for the video..

As a single frequency machine, the AT Pro has found me many nice bucket listers and silver coins with the 5x8” coil. I agree that SMF detectors have the edge, but single frequency detectors are no where near dead 
.
If we look back in history, the majority of coins have been found with single frequency detectors. In my opinion, SMF machines are cleaning up on the straggler targets that were misidentified by single frequency.

Your test bed is wore out, no one is trying to hear that nonsense any more .You do the same old same ole year after year , find something new . You keep coming to a actual metal detecting forum and try to teach guys the ins and outs of metal detectors? These guys have test beds that have more time in this hobbie than you. Stick to the the YouTube groupies if you want your ego stroked,you'll not get that here,but you will get honest feedback.

Why do you and others find it ok to slam someone and or their post? There are many post on here that I and I’m sure others don’t like but in most cases try to follow “if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything”. I’m not saying you can’t disagree and say it but being hateful and insulting is BS. It shouldn’t matter if you dislike CB. If you don’t then don’t look at his post. Added- I’m not trying to be self righteous as I’ve probably done it too but I can see why CB is ready to leave and I think that will be a loss to this forum.

Calabash, you didn't hit a nerve,I only told you my experience with single frequency and simultaneous multi frequency.Then you rattled this off below..until then nothing was said wrong from me or anyone..You can't stand anyone's opinion ,your so focused on your own . And that's why I said your better off with a YouTube channel where you can censor your feedback if your not willing to see the other side of the coin .
Seriously, I am open minded. You and others need to calm down and take a heart pill. First offf have you seen how many unmasking videos he has on here. Last time I checked including this one in discussion was not preceded.by anyone’s request. He just comes on here dumping his videos looking for comments. He got them. Constructive criticism works great if you don’t loose control. I told him I thought he could do better. To me the topic is boring. The responses were boring. Want to unmask a target? Dig it. Can’t say calling it out as boring is predudicial, mean or otherwise. Actually his programs simply don’t work for me in my area. There are a lot of people on here I feel are experts. Some also have videos I can’t stand to watch. Still take their information and try to do something with it. Love your post to so don’t piss me off. You really don’t know me, and neither does Calabash. Always looking for stuff that improves my hobby. So him coming on this forum and dumping his videos seems to me just that and sorry it upsets you but they belong back on UTube, Facebook or anywhere also or this forum will be chocked full of his videos and guess who’s forum it will become. He only cares if a person objects so he can jump all over them. HH and have a nice day.
I like when members post threads on their experiences using different products - asked for or not.
Personally I find deer hunting, CW relics, old people jokes and muscle cars boring (not in caps) so I don’t read them. Don’t get me started on moving targets I mean cats.
If you look at past posts in other threads there are Deliverance songs, southern accents and their Implications etc. These aren’t constructive only insults. We all know nothing works everywhere. He even did air test (yes we all know their worth) to take the ground equation out but still got slammed. That to me shows a personal bias against him no matter what. I get the swamping the forum pushing an opinion like one member who must work for Garrett.. If it gets to that point then say it but insults aren’t the way. I’m not upset, I just don’t want people censored or pushed out (even SteveC

I would like to give my reason.
I have had the Equinox 800 since 2019 and love it!
It has found many coins, artifacts, and jewelry and is very easy ( at least to me ) to operate.
With that being said, late last year I decided to buy the XTerra Pro which we all know is a single frequency detector.
Some of the reasons I bought it was the price, the ability to interchange coils from my 800 with it, it can be used on saltwater beaches as a backup to my 800,
and I was looking for an inexpensive detector to replace my Sand Shark for water detecting.
One other reason is that I did not really figure to use it much after swim season ended each year.
I got it in December and started using it to get familiar with the expanded TID scale and by the end of the year, I have found many coins including over 100 quarters
which impressed me along with a 2002 gold class ring that I returned to the owner.
I continued using it this year and with the exception of a few hunts with my 800, all my finds have been made with the XTP.
Earlier this month I responded to lost ring post and used it to find a small wedding band and was given $120 for finding it.
I used it while water detecting in lakes and also for the first time, I tried detecting in local river and it performed great without any issues!
This year alone I have found over 700 quarters with it and 109 of those came from the river!
Based on my experience and the reasons I stated for buying a single frequency detector, to say it is obsolete is nonsense in my opinion.
Others have already stated that single frequency detectors have and are still finding plenty for folks,
BTW.. my little XTP has already paid itself off!
Do I have any second thoughts or regrets about my decision.... Hell No!!

The other big item we all need to take in consideration is the ground conditions. Cally you have a test bed in a sandbox ( no disrespect intended ) The only true audience you have are beach hunters. You take dirt samples from around the United States, you will have huge difference in your findings or lack thereof. Take 10 gallons of dirt from Culpepper, VA and stick that in your test garden. Now let’s see what happens. Then take dirt samples from other States and run the same tests with multi and single frequency machines.
This will be the eye-opener.
