NEL Sharp Coil

Following

I am also debating picking one of those coils up but for a different brand and different detector

I am picking up a Golden Mask Pro 4WD and NEL produces that coil for the 4WD also so I am curious how that coil does on other detectors also

Moose57, I used the Nel Sharp Shooter coil on my AT Pro's, and liked it very much. I found it to have a fair amount more depth than the similar size Garret. I hate saying that, but it was significant in my case. Maybe I just had a bad Garrett, I don't know. Good luck! HH jim tn

Talked about before, be more than happy to restate what I said . My first use was on an explorer. Worked terrific and Id'd perfectly and was deep. Was so impressed. I bought one for the f-44. Again the id was perfect and I believe the depth was/is better than the tear-drop that came on the detector. All in all I feel it's a damm good coil. This is the sharpshooter I'm referring too.

I never used one on a Garrett but I have one for the Impact that works very well. Monte did one of his nail board tests with a half dime and it did better on the Racer 2 than either of the stock out of round small coil or the round 5 inch one, both of which work very well on my Racer 2.

I could not help notice that you own a Vista X how do you like
that detector. I was thinking of selling my at pro and buying one.

I like the Vista X a lot, its a fantastic Beep and Dig, very quick recovery speed and can pull a non ferrous target out of a bed of nails, the Vista X was my first dive into beep and dig detectors and I have no regrets in my purchase, or actually trade, the Vista X will surprise you on the Depth it can see targets and call the targets what they are ferrous or non ferrous

I believe the ATPro has better emi resistance.
I have had no issues with EMI with my Vista X at all, I do still have my ATP also but never use the ATP, on the ground I detect the Vista X actually sees targets at depth that the ATP cannot even begin to reach
If possible, I would keep both. I would think they complement each other well and both will have the advantage over the other in certain circumstances.
I will agree with you on keeping both, (I have a hard time letting go of detectors LOL) even though I donated my ATP to a worthy veterans cause they have never picked my ATP up as of yet so it just sits here collecting dust, the ATP is one detector I just never could come to terms with even after years of owning my ATP there is something I just never liked about the ATP, I have had mine since 2009 when the ATP was first released into the market, I throw batteries in my ATP just to check that it is still working and functioning correctly

Like oldkoot, I have had no problems with EMI, even in the garage with the freezer running and the electronic meter reader just a few feet away. I never had an ATP but wished I did. It just held its price too well for me to afford at the time and still today really. They rarely sell for less than $400 on the auction site and I just bought a brand new Patriot for half of of that.
