I have an old CZ7 quicksilver and as most cz7 people know it notorious for draining batteries if you leave them on after a hunt. I just bought a new Vanquish 540, but haven't been able to use it, due to all the snow and freezing weather. So I took my CZ7 and I've always wanted to install a switch to cut off the battery from draining. It's a small switch, 24v. I put it just under the arm rest so it can't be accidentally switched off. Now, I can switch it to off and the batteries won't drain away. That was all the good news. now the not so good. After my handy repair work, it powered up just fine. But after letting it sit (waiting for the snow to melt) I trired to power it up. It's not working right. No back light, doesn't make any sound, some of the functions don't work. Did I burn up the board inside it? So I put in fresh 9v batteries and still not working correctly.
Do you think Fisher would look at it since I modified the Detector? Or did I just create some lawn art?
