Glad to see this forum too.
The T-2 is a standard progressive discrimination format detector. As such, you have the full range of ferrite to silver that can be discriminated out up to approximately silver dime/copper cent range, or "80" on the T-2 discrimination scale. All signals higher than 80 remain accepted, regardless of where you set the discrimination.
Target separation is excellent using the stock 8x11 double-D coil. I'll transfer over some of the posts from the Metal Detecting Forum when time allows so we can have them archived here for future referrence.
I've had the T-2 just 3 days, so still have alot of experimenting and testing to do, but at this point in time feel it will be a contender in the middle upper-end range of machines currently on the market. As you mentioned, target response and recovery are very fast, and combined with the DD coil design, amounts to one of the quickest VID machines on the market IMO. The VDI and audio operate in different circuits or different processing channels that allows them to be independent of each other, allowing for the quick target response while the VDI is doing it's thing in the background. It also features an Fe304 magnetic susceptibility feature than appears to be of some additional use in discriminating ferrous targets along the lines of what the White's Signagraph "smear" does on the DFX and LST.
