Always..Lookin

Didn't take long, and I picked right up on it.Used the Hot program from day one,no need to use any other in this field.I like hearing what is down there. Incredible how this machine performs. Here are some of the better finds,1751 1 Real,1899 Barber dime, musket balls hit between 80/83,smaller silver 91/93.The sterling ring I believe is a wedding ring,it is the first piece of silver jewelry found in the fields I hunt, also eye spied a Indian artifact, not sure what it is,2 3/4 in. long. I really like my XP Deus!

17khz is a great frequency range for relic hunting in most areas
Curious as to how deep those finds were
Ring was around 6", real was 5-6 at an angle, dime was angled at 6",musket balls varied from just under the surface to 6"...all depths +- 3 inch.

The engineers at xp have this metal detecting thing figured out. The Deus 1 is over 10 years old and it's still one of the best. Great finds Lookin.
I can’t compare the two but the D2 is really good as well. I would think they both operate very similar. If anything the D2 is an improvement since it came out much later but xp has a handle on things no matter what they seem to make.

Great finds. I have been using the Deus 1 for several years now and it will probably be my last detector. I use the deep program with the 11" X35 coil and change frequencies depending on soil conditions. I try to run at 17.8 but, in some fields I have to drop down in some spots. I hunt fields 99% of the time.

Capabilities are pretty much a lateral move if staying away from salt water, and hot soil. Also the D1 remote is not submersible. In my limited testing, the D2 excels over the D1 in TID at depth and TID seems consistent across programs (likely due to multi-freq).
D1 pinpoints better than D2. Multi-frequency machines seem to have fuzzy pinpointing. However, the D2 pinpoints way better than my Minelab Sovereign (multi-freq). I hate the charging port on the D2 remote and think XP should make it wireless charging, it would have been so easy.

The main issue with the XP's Is the batteries issue they discharge just setting there the lights flashes all the tine So you have to remember to top them off before you go detecting

I have had both the D1 and now the D2. Like them both but I believe the D2 excels due to the waterproofing as well as the multi-frequency. It would have been a real feat if the D2 was actually a combination of the two. One machine that could be used with all of the D1 coils and settings.. I have always carried a 20,000 Mah battery pack that I top off the detector when I take a break.

I have a Deus I, Deus II, and a Manticore. I'll never get rid of the Deus I. It's just too good of a detector. Still trying to figure out if I like the Deus II or the Manticore the best. All are great detectors.

I have heard of others storing their detector for a couple weeks only to find they are dead when they check before a hunt. However, I have never had an issue with battery discharge in either D1 or D2. I could come back to the D1 after storing over winter and it would still have a decent charge.
The D2 I just got this spring but had to stop detecting over summer because of home improvements so it's been idle for 6-8 weeks without any significant loss of charge.

No, I've never had any issues with that either, even after maybe six months, so I guess you could get a bad battery, forgot to charge it up, or just let it sit for too long, but I've never gave it any thought because I've never had it happen.

The Deus was released in 2009. It is not surprising that some of the batteries have lost most of their capacity. If you have a newer one and you need to top it off every time you use it, you need to send it in to see what is wrong.
