    Any idea's what this is.

🤔 It does resemble a fishing spoon. The thickness looks to be too much, not what I would expect from fishing spoons. It also resembles the butt plate on a shotgun or rifle. Possibly hand made replacement or very old forged piece. Guessing

An odd mixture of items and help requested from Civil War ammunition buffs

I think the item to the right of the fishing reel is a valve stem from a model T Ford.

    A cool little paperweight

Could be 50 caliber bullets. Heavy and large. Practice along the coast was likely more common than we think. WW2 preparedness training likely sent many rounds into the ocean. Great finds and sharing them was good will for the hobby.

    Only On Amazon.... X-Terra VOYAGER

I stumbled across a video of the newly released Nokta less features than the Legend at a lower price point. More than the Simplex with added features. Only thinking out loud about the circumstances of the release timing two major competitors. Reminds me of the 60s when the big three battled for...

Church roof repair yields first Large cent

In years past the church had many times the building and property were in use. A long practiced tradition at churches is having a potluck dinner on the grounds after the morning service. Before the afternoon meeting began so no one had to leave for dinner. Young boys wrestling and losing their...

    Park shoveler

Appreciate your sharing photos of your digging tools. I’m interested in hearing more about how you Modified your coin poppers. Did you preheat the screwdriver or cold forge the bend? Being cautious about using digging tools in public spaces I do probe for my target after I locate with a carrot...

First finds with Xtera pro coin spill

🤔 after several hunts in my yard and one trip to a field I had failed to find anything of significance. Today I went where people frequent to see if any signals could be found on the surface. I was without any digging tools so not to attract attention. Anything showing more that one mark in...

How many remember the very first detector you started the hobby with and how long ago ??

Sadly my first detector was a Radio Shack kit. Purchased with my long time savings of allowance money. Plastic box with a radio antenna rod and pc board coil. If I scuffed the coil on a quarter it might beep. Soured me for many years. I go my ACE 250 as an adult and wow it found many coins...

New Garret AT pro pointer and learning curve

I picked up a Garrett At pro pointer a little over a week ago. I worked through the settings on various metals and setting levels to learn how it was going to work for me. I had a few times where the carrot would begin beeping and buzzing without being near any metal. I was not able to turn off...

A Dime signal pop can day.

Went out to a permission Monday after running some errands. Fresh batteries in the ACE 250, jewelry mode and four bars sensitivity. I began at the edge of the blacktop parking lot where an old over grown gravel lot continued on out to a mowed field. I found several pennies in the hard packed...

After a rain ground conditions and pinpointing

A recent morning hunt of mine after a night time rain had produced coins that I was able to pinpoint accurately and pop from the ground. That hunt was a confidence builder for certain. Hunting today after a time of no rain the ground is dry and the pinpointing is not hitting so well. My question...

First nice ring after long break

It has been a long while since I logged in. I had not taken my Ace 250 out in a good long while. I loaded it up with fresh batteries and went out for a short hunt. One of the first trips I found a Euro one cent coin. Clad steel coin very small, I thought it was a game token at first then I saw...

First Silvers and 12 Wheaties

I went to a local park and found the city was removing blacktop that had been put in place to cover the dirt path long ago when I was a little kid. The removal of the black-top sidewalk was about finished so I hunted the tot lot while they finished up. I began checking the compacted base...
