    FT16000 and XT705

    Has anyone ever compared these two detectors as to how deep, how small gold they will pick up, and how each handles hot rocks? In other words, which would be the best in hot ground with lots of hot rocks.

    I could never download Digger's book, it always came up as FLAWED, so my son downloaded it and had the Bindery print it in an 8x10 loose leaf book. It's great.

    problems with the XT70 and 705

    I had nothing but trouble trying to use these detectors trying to follow the meter. After reading posts here, I discriminated out all but 48, just listened to the sounds and ignored the meter. and things started working well for me. Sure glad there's a site like this to help people like me.

    using the off set on the 705

    Using the XT 705, in highly minerilized ground,loaded with hot rocks assuming the ground reading was 15 would the offset be set at 10 or 20, using an offset of 5? and would this setting help with hot rocks? I just can't seem to understand about the offset. Thanks

    Mine Lab service is fine

    I called Mine Lab last week about my XT70, they said send it in, I mailed it the 3rd, they received it the 5th, I got a call today, the lady said it would be 20 days turnaround. I thought that is pretty good service.
