Looking for a Daytona Beach search partner for mansion site burned down in the civil war.

I have it on authority of an old timer that used to go metal detecting years ago that there is an old old site out by Bunnell that had a mansion on it during the civil war. As it was told to me the mansion was first burned down by the Seminole Indians then rebuilt. Then it was burned down by the...

The Ace 250 surprises me again.

Went out this afternoon. Wasn't a very good hunt HOWEVER there was something that surprised me a lot. I got a really nice strong signal that said penny 8". Well I dug down to 8" and didn't find it. The Ace said it was still in the hole and it was still a nice strong signal. Opened up the hole a...

Coin and Jewlery mode going crazy!

Every once in a while my Ace 250 goes nuts. It seems no matter where I move it it won't stop signaling something. I personally call it being "possesed". I have to turn the machine totally off and when it comes back on reset it. I do not know if the V3 has a reset but if it does thats all I can...

Should I take my stock 6 x 9 coil with me for the Ace 250 ?

I have recently been going to a place on the beach where there is legal drinking on the beach. As a result there are a lot of bottle caps in the sand. Lots of them from last year as well but they are deep. The problem is that I have been using a 10 x 14" DD excelerator coil at this spot and...

    Ace 250 w/ 10 x 14 DD excelerator coil loves bottle caps!

There is a place that I like to go every morning on Daytona beach where unfortunately a lot of bottle caps get thrown into the sand. However I get the opportunity to clean up 60-70 of them each day as they always ring like a quarter! Even if I discriminate out the iron I still get each and every...

Today's Daytona Beach finds w/Ace 250 w/11x14 DD excelerator coil

Got out and on the beach about 30 minutes before the sun came up. Found nothing for the first 40 minutes then hit a spot I knew everyone would be running for. I got there about 10 minutes before everyone else. There was 4 of us searching this little area hahahaha. I found a ladies pair of silver...

    Day 2 and 3 with 10 x 14 excelerator coil for the Ace 250

Yesterday I was very happy with the coil in the dry sand. I didn't find much but what I did find was deep and had been there for quite a while considering the corrosion. It seemed as if the area had been searched previously as there was nothing on the surface at all, not even foil. The Ace with...

    Anyone here from Daytona Beach?

Hoping to find someone here from Daytona that has a Minelab Excalibur that might allow me to go out with you, with my Ace 250, and see how my machine fairs in the wet against yours. My detecting buddy and I usually go togeather and we check each others signals before we dig. Just trying to...

Question about wet salt water beach detecting

Both yesterday and today I have noticed that instead of having a ripple trough we have had 30 feet of nothing but ripple at low tide. I believe that is because we have lost a lot of sand in the past few days because of seriously heavy waves. I would think on of two things would be true. Either...

2 hours with my new 10 x 14 excelerator coil

Well I was able to get out for about 2 hours with my new 10 x 14 DD excelerator coil for my Ace 250. It is a little weighty but not to bad really. It covers a lot of ground really quickly. The beaches are still pretty dead yet as we have only had a few nice days weather wise and today wasn't...

Best day yet with my Ace 250

I have only been detecting for about 2 1/2 - 3 months now and have never found a full dollar in change till today. Found $1.71 in American , 10 cents Canadian , 16 skull pendant necklaces (give aways from a show on the beach last night) , and I also found a $10.00 bill laying right on top of...

    Hunting in the water advise.

I got a nice strong signal today right where the waves were coming in here in Daytona. I tried to dig but it was below my scoops depth and the waves would come in and fill the hole with more sand every time. Is there any special technique to digging in the water when it's deep?

Sniper coil or 10x14" DD Excelerator in wet salt water sand

Not a rich man here folks. Mainly interested in finding lost jewelry and coins on the beach. My Ace 250 does great in the wet sand right now with the stock coil, 6 1/2" x 9". I just yesterday found a penny 8" down in the wet sand. I want to increase my depth of my search area. So I am interested...

    My Ace 250 SHOCKED me!!!

Went down the beach today and I have been trying to get the sensitivity and discrimination set properly to be able to find items in the wet sand. Well I think I might have it. I discriminated out the bottom 3 settings begining with iron. Decreased the sensitivity by 3 and proceeded to search...
