I have always enjoyed having a metal detector available to me for whenever I get the urge to get out and "go metal detecting" for a morning or afternoon. My Dad bought an early White's detector in the late 1960's after we saw a man using a detector in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. I bought my first detector, a White's 6000 Di Pro SL, in 1993 while living in South Carolina, and used it until I sold it in about 2015 due to its weight. I purchased a Fisher 1266-XB (long admired) and 1236-X2, plus a White's Spectrum XLT in that same period. I added a Tesoro Tejon and Fisher 1265-X in December 2021, both also being long-admired units.
