    The detector/coil must be classed as faulty if you cannot use the TX Boost function if it is overloading all the time. That is classed as not fit for purpose and surley should be fixed, if the null shifts through no fault of the operator and a feature of the detector cannot be used that means...

    Thats how I understand it, if the VDI numbers are different then the signals are combined and passed to the discrim circuit, if the numbers are the same the the signal is ignored.     Single frequency can give a bit more depth if searching for a particular type of target at it's optimum frequency in the right conditions. I think thats what Mario is saying.

    So are we saying the actual tracking rate is fixed, the tracking speed adjusts whether the ground balance is adjusted to the last ground sample almost instantly or it is drip fed in and changed over a period of time.
