Tejon used 3 times for sale! - Finds too much too deep!

I have a Tejon I purchased less than a year ago, used it 2 times and this thing is AMAZING! It finds stuff that I can't dig deep enough to get! So instead of buying a backhoe I am going to offer this for sale since I cannot excavate all the parks in the city, they kind of frown on that! This is...

5.75" coil for Tejon, Vaquero and Cibola position

If you got a coil positioning problem in other words you can't get the coil to stay in place when you tighten the wing nut then just go to home depot and purchase two 1/4 nylon washers and replace the supplied black rubber washers on the coil. Now when you tighten the wing nut the coil will stay...

The animal(Tejon) goes to the park

Hit the same park where I found the ring last week with the Cortes today. The Cortes is at the Doctor's so I had no target ID crutch. Was there for about an hour in the heat 100+ degrees. Here is a picture of my finds. It was interesting digging new stuff other than coins.. well maybe. Anyway...

    Tejon arrived yesterday!

The animal arrived and after assembly took it out to the yard today. It will require a lot of learning for me since I need to be weaned off the target id machines. It is definitely a different animal then the Cortes I have. I have hit the 6" planted nickle everytime regardless of whether I had...

Tip to correct floppy dog eared coils for position!

Go to Home Depot and purchase two 1/4 nylon washers and then replace the provided rubber washers and your coil will now stay in position with minimal tightening of the nylon wing nut. The rubber washers are the problem here.:detecting:

Tesoro Cortes / DeLeon maybe other older models

You can use a Dremmel tool with a side cutter wheel and cut a slot on both sides of the arm rest about 1/8" in height and about 2 1/2" long. Then you can get a White's XLT arm strap from you detector dealer and use it on the Tesoro's. Mine works Great! So much easier. Of course on the newer...

    Intersting observation with the x50

I purchased one of those deep 15" flower pots large and put gravel at the bottom and filled it to the top with dirt. Then I took a ruler and in the center of the pot I pushed it down until the top level of dirt was equal with the 6 inch mark then I placed a nickel which I had previously found...

Groundbalancing question for XT-50 and XT-70

Ground balancing on these machines is accomplished while in the ALL METAL MODE. So my question now is, since you pinpoint in the all metal mode AND that is where the ground balance is set, when you switch to either one of the two discriminate modes the XTERRA must then use a PRESET FIXED ground...

Received my xterra 50 today - intersting experience

First I must say it was delivered quickly with all the free items as promised by the dealer. It was easy to put together. My first 10 minutes with the detector on was livng hell though. It was noisy, beeping at anything, erratic and a pain in the butt. The manual said just turn it on and its...

    Ordered my 50 tonight:-)

Reading all the web stuff and finally getting out on the 18th with my Spectrum Eagle to the park again! Have had this since I bought it used in 2000. Finally getting some time to get back in the hobby. Researched 5 major detector brands and narrowed it down to 5 machines 1 from each :drinking...

    Whites Spectrum Eagle Battery Mod

I have an original 1991 Whites Spectrum Eagle and of course the battery pack died shortly after I got it and I lost the charging wall wart too. This unit used 4 C' cells. So I went to my local Radio Shack and purchased a spool of 16 gauge red/white twin wire and a 4 cell C cell holder and a 4...

I was considering a Garrett but I talked to their tech Brad!

I started detecting in 1974 with a Dtex, then Bounty Hunter Red Baron then got out of it for a while. 3 years ago I purchased a white's Spectrum Eagle used. I have a highly technical background in electronics also. I said all that to give you an idea where I am coming from with my concerns about...
