    Question about GOLD

Thanks so much. I'll start meditating and working on my patience. Maybe I'll have a cocktail before I detect!

    Question about GOLD

I've been on 2.78 for quite a while now. I've literally never had a nickel in the ground below 30. And 95% of the time, it's DEAD ON 31. It's the most solid ID I get for coins.

    Charge

What are you plugging it into to charge it?

    Question about GOLD

Funny you say that 20 is just below US nickels. For me, I've yet to pull a nickel out of the ground that isn't holding steady at 31. I mean, like, ROCK STEADY at 31. If I'm seeing that number, I KNOW I'm digging a nickel. It's my most reliable ID. Have not dug any nickels in the 20s. Thanks for...

    Question about GOLD

Hey Simplex peeps. I'm closing in on about 100 hours on the Simplex. I feel like I'm getting to know the machine. I've found tons of clad (not literally, but probably close to $60 for my 100 hours), 8 or 9 rings (2 really nice ones) and a bunch of other cool and interesting stuff. I've pretty...

    Watch or ring?

It's both. Watch rings have been around for a while. Cool find!

Some finds make me feel terrible!

That is a really cool Brownie knife! On the flip side of things, I once lost a knife of my dads while hunting Antelope. It was a nice sheath knife with a bone handle. Only YEARS later did he let me know that it was a gift from his father and it was a very old Mora Knife his dad had brought back...

Some finds make me feel terrible!

I found this Camillus 64 knife in the park yesterday. It wasn't very deep, and all it took was a night in some vinegar before I could open the blades. After a thorough cleaning and oiling, I sharpened it and it's shaving sharp after just a few passes on my stone. Why do I feel terrilbe? Because...

First time out with the new SP24 (Simplex)

Clad, key, junk ring, junk earring, bus token. Oldest Coin Found Today: 1957 The new coil is very...specific. It's pulling stuff out of the ground in a little 100' square area that I've been working for a month now. The junk ring was found not more than 20' from a .925 silver and opal ring I...
