    Ground Balancing

Over the last couple weeks or so I thought I was having trouble ground balancing my AT Pro. By the way, I always use the auto method. So one day last week I dragged out the manual and also spoke with someone at Garrett. When reading the manual, the line that says doing a manual balance and...

    Thinking of T2

Hoping I posted in the correct place. Anyone here use the T2 and the AT Pro as to be able to give a good comparison of target id and depth of coins, relics or both. I am not looking for bashing of either, just honest answers. Thanks

Which coil for AT Pro in Woods

Ok.....I know I have seen this debated on here at times, but I can not find anything right now. If hunting a non-trshy woods, and the vegatation allowed, would you use the stock coil or the 5 x 8? Will or does the stock coil get much deeper? I have been using the 5 x 8 mostly for yards and...

My first piece of silver jewelry?

I was at a local park yesterday digging mainly clad when I dug this ring. Looks like it may have been stepped on and broke. I rinsed it off when I got home. In side of band is stamped .925, but I am not convinced it is silver. Why?....I dont know. It could be I have never found any silver...

    low TID no.'s

I have a habit of picking sites to hunt that seem to have a good amount of junk....lol. I hunt in Pro Mode with zero discrimination with iron set at around 30-35. At times I might run at 0 iron for the heck of it. I have seen 2 lists of VDI no's and on one the good targets begin at 40....the...

After a not so good start to the day

Earlier in the day I was asked to leave a 1850's school house site that I had received permission to hunt. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping to find a target I hadnt found yet. After leaving there and eating lunch I went to a neighbors house that his father had built and lived in...

    Had permission...then asked to leave

For a good couple of weeks I had been trying to get permission to hunt around an old school house dating back to the mid 1800's that sits on county park property, about a mile or so from my house. After talking to county folks and getting passed to this and that person I ran into park site...

    Depth of finds

Wife just asked me what my plans were today and said I wanted to go detecting. When saying that it reminded of something I was thinking of yesterday when I was out for a short while. Recently I found a newer penny at about 7" ( Lesche blade length) and Barber dime just below the surface. I know...

    First two nickles...thanks

About a week ago I posted a thread asking about tones for nickels, tabs and gold and got input from more folks then I though I would. Just a couple days ago, here in my community, someone gave me permission to hunt around a couple set of old steps that led to some older houses that use to sit...

    AT Pro Tones....Pro mode

When I got my AT Pro a couple months ago I was told to pay more attention to tones then the numbers and dig all repeatable solid signals. After looking at a list of ATP vdi numbers I now have a question. I will use vdi 53 as an example. According to the list....tabs, nickels and some gold rings...

    Garrett headphone question

I know the stock AT Pro headphones are not waterproof but what would happen if used in a drizzle or get caught in a shower? Just curious. Thanks Denis

    Button?

I found this about 7" down with the AT Pro. Nice high tone with numbers in the high 80's. Anyone able to identify? Appears to be a button of some sort, but no shank. I see no other markings. Thanks Denis

    Tone and Numbers

Today I went back to an area I have already hunted twice before. I did find a couple pennies one a 1919 wheat. I am still new with the Pro and have a question about tone and id #
