    Beach today.

Unfortunately that's the new, norm with the price of gold so high. They Chinese have perfected a gold plating process called 'ion' plating. Looks just like the real thing and it doesnt tarnish or corroded. Why spend hundreds on the real thing when you can buy a good repro for $25 !!! Back in...

Update 3.1 vs 2. performance question.

I was comparing apples with oranges... the D2 vs the Equinox 900. Im using the 11" coils on both. I wear the D2 remote on a lanyard around my neck. HH Donna(NJ

Update 3.1 vs 2. performance question.

Took a long time to get the D2 to run 'almost' quiet on my beaches. Yes, Minilab's are the best for salt water. However, after 25 years of swinging heavy Minelabs, the D2 is a joy and my go to machine. I just bought a 900 as a backup unit. I took it to FL and wish I took the D2. I'm stuck in...

Just got a new rumbler for cleaning wow!

Harbor freight is definitely low grade. Motor crapped out in no time. Fan blades made of plastic. I replaced it with a Lortone motor from a case that the holes wore out. Eventually everything wears out if you run it long enough. Stainless should hold up very well. HH Donna

    New field

I detected an old park years ago and found all sorts of debis from the railroad. Hat badges, luggage tags,, buttons, old razors and shaving cream. Best find was an ssilver ruler, ornately decorated with flowers. It was marked 999/1000 and made by Samuel Kirk. First silver smith of America...

    Beat Copper coin

Since most of the detail is gone, its probably not worth much. Id take a piece of aluminum foil and rub it across the coin. Maybe you can get some relief to show up. Good Luck, Donna(NJ

    Potential Sovereign user questions.

I remember waaay back when, when I was swinging the Sovereign at the beach. I was out with my partner and targets were few. I was swinging a Sov with the big 15" WOT coil. I basically got a 'one way 'tic' and decided to dig it. Turned out it was a gold ring with a butterfly perpendicular to...
