    looking for a GTA 1000- How do I know if it has the power master on it?

    I am trying to break into the MD Hobby on a very limited budget. I am looking for an older, capable machine that I will enjoy that is less expensive due to age. The GTA looks like a decent detector but how do I know if it is the power master? Can that be added later? Any other recommendations...

    Whites 4900 / D

    Is the 4900/D (blue box) a worthwhile detector to use today? Should I consider any Whites that is not in the "black box" version older and lower tech?

    Is the Blue box of this (WHITES COINMASTER 4900/D) detector worth using as my main detector? Should I assume that anything before the black boxes are "old" technology?
