    Still detecting!!

Thanks Odanscoils!! This area is really historic in many ways and it requires a different detecting approach and Spring is not too far away now so I'll start dusting off the detectors!! Good luck to you to!

    Still detecting!!

Your right!! There is the old Spanish trail very close and I need to detect as much as possible along that trail!

Thinking about getting a Safari agane!

I've had many detectors over the year's but call me old school, I still love my Safari although it's heavy and it gets harder to swing as the day wears on. It has paid for itself many times in gold and silver and I've been able to pick out deep targets. I sold it once (needed the cash) but after...

    Still detecting!!

Thanks! Age catches up with all of us dose'nt it!! I will make sure I have a buddy when I go into the mountains. A satellite phone is a must and it's best to take a firearm just in case a mountain lion comes stalking you!! Hopefully going out more often as spring comes along with better weather!!

    Still detecting!!

It is a great detector. It's on the heavy side and there is no backlight. Other than those negatives, I love the fbs tones. They take getting used to but it'll alway's reward you with deep silver and gold!!!

    Still detecting!!

Lol! Thanks. In SoCal where I lived, there were 15 parks in the city and I miss those as well!! Maybe I'll move back one of these day's!!

    Still detecting!!

Yes, your right I should shift gears! There is an old Spanish Trail that dates back to the 1600-1700s just a couple of miles away and a few ghost towns as well. I really need to buddy up with someone because it's 6000 ft elevation on the flat and fairly rugged terrain.

    Still detecting!!

I used to be a regular contribiter to the forums but since moving from California to here in Utah 3 years ago, I have only gone detecting a handful of times. I still have my trusty Minelab Safari which has paid for itself many, many times over in gold and silver. I used to live just about 1 hr...

    My first good beach find!

Nice find! I LOVE beach detecting! It isn't anywhere near what it used to be but if you are prepared and are willing to work the hrs needed you can find good stuff. I always take an acid test kit and gram scale and diamond tester with me to determine what metal and stones I have. Like I...

First time out with my new XP DEUS

Very nice ring! As soon as I can afford a Deus, I'll buy one. Not sure if they have upgraded it but from all I see and read, it's a deep seaking and accurate detector!

    Cartier Bracelet Fake or Real

Yep, after you have found and handled enough gold items, it's fairly easy to tell between the real stuff and plated stuff!
