Coinstrike website is going away

Hi all, after 11 years the Coinstrike website will be dying because TW Cable is pulling the plug on personal websites. I'll likley move it somewhere, but in the meantime if you need any of the info it's best to go download whatever of the site that you need as reference. To find it just search...

got the Coinstrike out with the 8" coil

Hunted a friend's 1819 yard out in the country. And the second hole I dug had an 1840 Half Dime, stars , no drape coin in it ! Very little wear. 8) [attachment 214853 1840HalfDime.jpg] [attachment 214854 1840HalfDimeObv.jpg] I was really surprised. After that I dug trash for hours. -=j=-

any info on my new PI detector

Hello all, I just ordered a new detector to fool around with. Hopefully it'll find objects deeper than I want to dig.:detecting: It's an SSP-2100 which is sold by folks in NV, Chicago and england. These are made by detech from what I can tell... same folks that make the coils. Since I've never...

    got my CS back

from the shop .... took a few weeks, but was A Ok as expected. The CS had a blown speaker. A real simple fix. Likely blown because I never use headphones. The Fisher service was responsive, personal and well done. I probably had over 2000 hrs on the CS. hh -=j=-...

Welp, it finally happened...something on my C$ broke. It was the speaker. The last day of my Va week long trip the speaker sounded a bit gravely. I though it was batteries and I changed them out and forgot about it. When I got home the speaker wouldn't work at all. I unplugged the speaker and...

    first pix from Va trip

Hi all, I have just been too busy to crank out a good story with photos, but I do have this one ready. Here is my first signal at Cold Harbor in the trenches. Just goes to show the C$ with the 8" coil has the power. 40 yrs of detectors ran over this one.

<img...

    odd find with the CS

Hi all, I got out for about an hour with the CS after the snow melted. Worked over an old Civil War site, but I guess it was all gone. Here's the only target besides a screwcap and some shotgun shells.
<img SRC="http://home.insightbb.com/~johnhetti/newpix/fob090.jpg"
...

no, I found me a plate!

Hi all! hope your digs have been good ones. I have had several digs, all minor but no complaints. It has been unusually warm here in the middle. The other day it was a 35 mph wind and no one would go digging. The sky looked great at dawn. I had full permission ...time to head out.

...
