    One for GaYankee...

I read about how you just found one of these. I've got two, now. One from Norwich St. and one from St. Simons Island. Best I can figure, they're from the WW2 boomtime when they were building Liberty ships here in Brunswick. I don't know of any other time there were city buses here.

"Size A" targets on GTI machines (word to the wise)...

...or should I say, "a word to the NOT so wise", if you're anything like I was until Sunday's outing. Yes, I know I am dumb sometimes, but silly me, I took the "Size A at two inches" (or at one inch) seriously for too long. I knew I should've taken that with a grain of salt, but lazy digger...

I call this one "THE" coin, for perhaps obvious reasons...

This is my oldest coin found so far, but that's only part of the reason it's my favorite find. When I found it in 1998, Hurricane Earl was blowin' across the Florida panhandle to hit us from the landward side. I was out at a site in the woods that had been cleared (bush-mowed but not...

Using the GTAx-550 on salt water beaches- any experienced hands?

Somebody on another forum I frequent has asked for recommendations for a good general-purpose detector for coinshooting and beach hunting, under $500. I told him my pick was the Garrett GTAx-550, due to my past coinshooting and relic hunting experience with the machine (and, for twelve years...

The "Size D at 12 inches" quirk

Do you users of the "imaging" machines get this faulty ID reading a lot? I think it's kind of funny. I always know the machine is confused when it says that (with the TreasureTalk on). I just recheck, and usually the machine will get it right the second time around. A local friend of mine...

    DIGS O' THE DAY

Thursday, January 10, 2008 was a postcard-perfect day in the Golden Isles of Georgia. It was sunny and clear, with temperatures around 70 degrees. A few days earlier, we
