Well it was her first time out with her new detector she got for her birthday last month and her first few sweeps she gets a great audible and we dig maybe 1/2" and out falls a 1978 copper penny! She was happy as you can see!

    Big smile upon opening!

Well we had my daughter's birthday party Saturday and we got to her present of a big box wrapped up for her to open (Tesoro Compadre). She opens it up then opens the interior box (Tesoro box) then smiles real big!!!! Being late in the evening she did not get to use on Saturday. Sunday after...

    Tiger vs. Sand

You ole beach hunters........which do you prefer? The Sand Shark or Tiger Shark? I want to add a second detector to the stable when I go to the beach to hunt the sand and surf which would be all inclusive to dry/wet sand/and knee high surf. I posted this in another forum and the person who has...

    A BIG THANK YOU!

I want to wish all our past and current veterans a BIG OLE THANK YOU! Thank you for serving and more importantly thank you for the sacrifices made and putting yourselves last as always for people you don't even know and unfortunately, some that could care less! I for one being a Christian want...

Fors CoRe is going deep deep deep....it's gone!

Where I live there is high mineralization in the soil and mainly it is red clay. I had some time to scan through the side flower bed again that borders the wood line and I get a mixed tone but solid and the TID reads 82 then flashes around 92-93-94 then back to 82. I know from experience there...

    Fors CoRe maiden search.......

Well I was able to sneak in a quick maiden search of the newly acquired Fors and while not a stellar day it was a few hours to learn the new detector. Here is what we found on a piece of property we own....... A pull tab; a few casings; a shear bolt; and a piece of suspected farm equipment...

New guy to this specific forum/thread

Good to find and know a forum will allow a "Christian" area!!!! So many places have outlawed any and all things associated with being a God fearing Christian. I even left a forum for straight razor shaving because the owner decided that having a scripture verse alone in your signature to be...

    Fors CoRe on way

Well, after much debate and reading between the Fors and the Teknetics T2 new version I went with a Fors. I like the idea of the COG program and not having to set my levels all from ground zero when beach hunting. May have to tweak but not a complete overwrite. Plus the T2 while it has great...

    New T2

Tell me if this would be a good unit for simple clay ground and beach combing for coins and jewelry? Thank you.

    Best find of 2014?

What was your best find of 2014? Mine was a CW musket ball on my acreage that I would have never guessed there. Only been in this hobby since June so I have not had time to amass finds like you guys!

    Neat find today

I was invited by a fellow detectorist that lives nearby to hunt some of his sites he has made contact with owners to hunt. The find looks to be an old broach to me minus the pin which is looks like one broke off the back. It was about 5" deep and was found utilizing the factory Basic 1 program...

Some days you just have the bull by the horn!

Not what I was looking for but none the less surprised and decided it would be a keeper! It was nestled under fallen leaves so it was a surface find!:bouncy:

    My 1st Civil War item.....

Here is a .58" musket ball I found on my 21 acre property while swinging the Deus! Was a 78-81 TID @ 5"-6" indicated depth! Man was I happy to find evidence of some action on the land......or a period hunter of that time!

    Setting ?

Okay I have my Deus in and need to get her out to the field. But where I live to just try her I have a high amount of iron in the ground. So much so there is a mine nearby that the Confederates used during the Civil War to mine iron. So I am switching between Basic 1 and Basic 9 I believe...
