    Couple months with the sov

Coming up on the two month mark since I joined the minelab crowd. Nothing spectacular but considering how dead calm it has been on the beaches around here I am not going to complain. The pic is my non clad finds. Little gold little silver little custom junk and a whole lot of fun and bought...

    xs2a pro tone id

I am thinking go buying a used xs2a pro as a back up to my sov gt or loaner to try and get some friends involved. I have read that the xs2a has a wider range of tone ID than that of the GT. Opinions from those who have used both would be appreciated.

    can slaw motherload

Ran into my first problem since starting to use a sov gt. Can slaw. Not sure what to do other than give up on these infested sights or go into the scrap aluminum business. Biggest problem is depending on the type the sov gives anywhere from a low small gold type tone to a high coin type tone...

    DFX beach mode & depth

Recently bought a sov gt for the beach but came vary close to choosing the dfx while shopping the detector. The sov is punching pretty deep for me on the beach. Not uncommon to pull coins at ten pluse inches. First of the year I will probably add to my detector collection and was wondering...

    First gold with sov gt

Found my first little bit of gold this morning with the new detector. Had I been running the disc setting I asked about in a different thread this would have stayed in the sand. Good call gulf hunter. Well I guess I am officially convinced on the discrimination thing and will have to dig just...

white an yellow gold and discrimination

Ya I know; most don't or suggest not running much if any discrimination with the sov GT for beach hunting. I am probably not alone in the fact that this is fine for the first three hours or so of a hunt but I often find after the energy level goes down a bit, but I am not quite ready to call it...

    Tracking for discrimination

Anyone ever try this? Say you have a particular nuisance item you would like to ignore. Switch to tracking and swing over the item until the machine ignores it and then switch to fixed. Provided the GB remains stable can you then hunt with the particular item tracked out.

    Wireless with sov gt

I hate wires. I have even given up on hip or shoulder bagging my sov and gone back to rod mounting. Even the little bit of loose coil cable dangling from a hip or shoulder bag bothered me. Anyone know of a cover for the front of the sov when rod mounting? Now for the headphones. I bit the...

    Bottlecap rejectoin & sov gt

Ok I have had this thing a week and have found something to complain about. Its hot on bottle caps! I cant even completely disc out bottle caps no matter where I set the disc or notch and dont/cant really be running disc in the field anyways by most everyone's recommendations. Here is something...

Sophmore day with the sov GT

Six hours now total at the public beach with the sov. The silver ring is a tad better pick than the one from Thursday hunt which I posted before. The other jewelry is junk but the watch is a working Kenneth Cole model KC4440 found this morning...

First day with sov gt at beach

All I can say is what a big difference. They say its not the machine but the man behind it but when it comes to beach hunting and comparing a sov gt to an ace 250 I beg to differ. I will admit I was a little concerned when air testing and going over my test garden situated in my back yard and...

    Sovereign GT arrives

My ebay Sovereign has arrived and seems to be in good working order. First off just as I had hoped for there are dicernable tones. Some are subtle but definitely there. Even different style/ non ferrous content pull tabs seem to have slightly different tones. Foil and small gold seam to be...

    New/used sovereign on way

Ebay purchase at $475. Owner claims machine was used only a few hours and is still operating on its first battery charge. If so I have no misgivings about the money spent. Down side is I will have no reference as to if the machine is operating normally as this is my first minelab. This is my...
