    Was at NJ Shore, LBI using 10" DD & VX3 salt water issues and SUPERMOON PICS

    Hey gang long time. Hope all is well. Just an FYI for the jersey beach guys here. The V3I loves those Jersey beaches. On the 950 I can usually run sensitivity pretty high usually 13-14. The machine seems to like the sand composition I can go much deeper in Jersey than I can go on New York beaches.

    BURP On SOV GT

    I'm new to this machine so please forgive me. Do bottle caps always burp. Every time I get the burp sound I dig it and its always been a bottle cap.     the magic program for V3i

    Thanks Magic been running a variation of this on the beach for a while it's MAGIC. At least for me it is. Running slow with a small coil I pulled three Indian heads the other day for a total of 47 for this year. Non above 1876...still waiting for the 77! I'm about to invest in my first minelab...

    why band pass or high filter??

    I personally use the 5 band pass most of the time but as I look at the program defaults I see the 10 band pass as the default for most programs. I'm confused this is from the Whites manual. "Most Programs use a 10 Band Pass Filter allowing normal ground rejection at normal sweep speeds...

    V3i Rain Cover

    ABSOLUTELY! If it rains all the covers come off. If its 10 degrees outside and I hunt for 2 or 3 hours and I walk into my 70 degree house all the covers come off. I have had 0 problems with condensation. I would feel naked without my covers. I've seen guys hunting the beach with a V uncovered...

    I agree. I felt the same way when I got my V3I. I think Whites assumed if we bought a V3I we already had a lot of information. What I found helped me was the VX3 Manual. This manual will answer a lot of your questions...

    Which the differences are between v3i and v3?

    I dig with a friend with an etrac. I think it boils down to soil or sand conditions. Where I am I happen to think the V out does the etrac. I was always curious about the etrac until I spent many hours digging with my friend. I'm not missing a thing and in some cases outpace him.

    I have tested this and seem to be getting a lot of smearing on the spectragraph and picked up more noise. I am looking forward to testing this on clean beach. Thanks Rob for making me more aware. Sometimes one post can open your eyes!
