First time out with the Apex

Roscommon county for me. Hunting camp sites are some of my favorite places up here.

First time out with the Apex

Make up a long probe rod. Sound like big deep rusty iron, but you never know until you dig. I'm in the northern middle of the mitten.

    Just for giggles and grins...

I use my 550 when I take other people out and have a sniper on it for around the fences at parks. Still a great machine. John

best way to discriminate iron with Ace 400

No, but by decreasing your sensitivity you will ignore smaller objects, but you will also lose out on depth. John

best way to discriminate iron with Ace 400

Sensitivity deals more with size and depth, discrimination deals with the conductivity of the target (the type of metal). Slowly sweeping the coil over the target can tell you more about the size of the target. John

Greetings from the middle of the mitten. One of my favorites is finding hunting camp sites. A lot of them have been in use for decades. John

    Garrett Carrot mode question...

If I'm not mistaken, the vibration is done with a small motor, which will use more power than just the audio. But it shouldn't kill a battery rapidly very quickly. John

    Another good place to hunt.

Our township runs a medium sized campground for the weekenders. Been hitting 2 to 4 sites a trip, as my arm won't let me do much more. 6 trips so far. Have pulled up 130 coins and still have over 100 sites to hit. John

What is the best or at least a very good long handle scoop? John
