    Frequency offset question ?.

Well I just read threw page 24 of the manual and it mentions it slightly offsets the primary frequencies of the V3. So after reading this I decided to air test my new 5.3 coil with a Canadian dime, in the stock Hi-Pro mode at -5 offset it reads in at +76 VDI, at 0 offset it reads in at +73 and...

    Frequency offset question ?.

I was messing around with my V3 last night adjusting the frequency offset to -5 and forgot to reset it. This morning I went for a couple hour hunt and the V3 seemed to be in a real grove, it wasn

Who is getting deep (coins at 8 inches) and how are you doing it?

I would say about 10% of my finds are in the 6+ inch range with a few at the 8 inch range, using stock Hi-Pro mode and stock coil . I have probably put about 110+ hours on the V3 now and my soil conditions allow me to run Rx gain between 9 & 11 with discrimination between 76 & 86. But it...

We need to start coming up up with some single frequency slammers.

Sorry I just read threw this thread again I didn't see your post about 22.5 that's interesting I will have to mess around with that a bit. Thanks for the info. HH Pat

I hate to ask this question because it mite have been already answered

I don't know if you tried this but next time hold the coil at waist level and see if it still falses, if so I would think it was an EMI issue. If its an EMI issue I have heard others also suggest going with a smaller coil or switching to co-relate if your running 3 Freq. Hope this helps. HH Pat

We need to start coming up up with some single frequency slammers.

I am starting to think there might be an advantage to hunting smaller silver in the 7.5 single freq. over the 2.5. I know soil conditions can play a heavy factor in this but the deeper ( 6+ inches)silver dimes I have been finding show slight signs of favouring the 7.5. Anyone else notice this...

    RX Gain

Some good posts on this I wish I could remember which ones. But in my opinion yes do a ground balance after any change to Rx or Discrimination or as some suggest the V will settle in by itself within 8 swings or so. Hope this helps. HH Pat

    coil question 6x10 or 950 ?

Thanks All !!! I think I will swing the 5.3 for a while and see if I like the concentric over the DD in my soil. Lots of great info !!!. HH Pat

Threshold and Rx and Disc settings ?

Thanks for you response Gents !!!. I like to experiment like most of you do and I have never reached a solid conclusion on how hot to run my V3. At first I allowed a certain amount of falsing but now if the soil is good and it allows me to run pretty high I have found if I drop it back a notch...

Threshold and Rx and Disc settings ?

I am wondering on how you settle in on your Rx Gain and Discrimination settings ?. I adjust it to the point where I get a good threshold , it almost has a sizzle to it. I realize if you are over bad ground you are going to get a lot of blanking so I am talking over a clean stretch. I know...

New Member, New V3 owner (tips please)

Welcome !!! I have put about 100+ hours on the V3 in Hi-Pro mode and really enjoy it . In a lot of senses the V3 has been an out of the box detector with Rx gain and discrimination being the first couple tweaks that you should learn for your soil conditions. Good luck and HH Pat
