    g'day all. can i use my tesoro compadre; for the beach? wet sand? can just the coil go a little under water ? cheers.

    considering the cheap alloys and plastics, and the generic electronics that go into most detectors, are they way overpriced? i imagine that the end cost of a mass produced detector that retails for $400-$700 is probably under $100. the chinese would make them for half that. units that cost...

    who makes a good budget ($1500) salt water detector ? the unit will mostly will be used in about 1-3ft of water, but will get an occasional dunking...? other times, it will be used on the beach and Sandy loam dune country. thanks guys n gals in advance...

    i went to dick smith electronics today, and there was a myriad of headphones. sanyo, well known brands etc. ranging from $10 to $100. are these headphones ok for the compadre, or must they be metal detector specific?
