3rd outing with CZ7aPro - getting back into the swing

Third outing today for about 75 minutes. Dug 7 targets (one was iffy but I wanted to see) and came away with 6 coins and a piece of bent wire. Three cents, two dimes, one quarter. If I stick with solid, repeatable signals, the CZ is spot on.

Have 8” and 5” (waterproof?) coils for my CZ7a Pro. What would I gain by buying a 10.5” coil for it?

Thank you, all, for taking time to share your thoughts on this. Much appreciated.

Wondering what practical advantage the 10.5” has over the two smaller coils. The 5” is a solid white coil, which appears to be sealed against water; for surf hunting? I’ve only been using the 8” coil and it’s working well. Thanks for sharing your insights and experiences.

Second time out with CZ7a Pro (after a hiatus of 15 years or so) and it still amazes me

Went out for an hour to a local park. Started hunting six feet from where I parked the car. Almost immediately had a solid tone, probable cent at four inches. Spot on. Minutes later, another hit two feet from the first. Another coin. In all, I cut ten plugs. Retrieved 7 coins (6 Lincoln cents...

First hunt in many years, local park, 90 minutes

“Dirt fishing.” First time I’ve heard that expression, but it fits in so many ways. Thanks!

First hunt in many years, local park, 90 minutes

Ten pieces of trash (long wire not pictured), ten modern coins (7 cents, 2 quarters, one dime). Hunting with CZ7a Pro. Still rusty but hoping to get in more practice.

Instructions Needed for Older DetectorPro Uniprobe Headphone-Probe Combo

Rick, according to Carter Pennington at DetectorPro, they are still being made. The current model, The Grey Ghost, is an updated version of the Uniprobe. You can reach him by email: Carter@detectorpro.com

Instructions Needed for Older DetectorPro Uniprobe Headphone-Probe Combo

I also found this helpful video from someone who owns an older DetectorPro Uniprobe like mine. Thought I'd post it here for the next person with a similar situation.

Instructions Needed for Older DetectorPro Uniprobe Headphone-Probe Combo

Rick, thanks a million for your response. Sorry to hear about the wiring fault you’ve had to deal with, and I hope you’re able to get it resolved. I wrote to the current owner of DetectorPro, who sent me the instructions that come with the new Uniprobe models, adding that their function is...

Instructions Needed for Older DetectorPro Uniprobe Headphone-Probe Combo

Greetings, Detectorists - I'm getting back into detecting after a years-long hiatus and slowly re-learning my equipment. I own two Fisher detectors, a CZ7a Pro and a Coinstrike. At some point when I was actively involved in detecting, I purchased the gently used DetectorPro Uniprobe pictured...
