treasure pro, any glitches to look out for ?

There are a couple of performance issues I think. I've experienced them. Let me know if it's not too late and I'll share.

    TM Pro Iron Grunt

Bought this one for my wife because of being lightweight and having a "Beach Mode". Works OK except for audio keeps going off for iron even thought it is discriminated. Anyone else have this problem and or know if it is fixable?

    Mercury Dimes finally found

Congrats! I have been shut out from silver entirely since I returned to detecting 4 years ago. In the '70s it was nothing to find silver nearly every time out. Just going to keep on digging.

    V3i Hot & Cold

Great discussion guys! If I might add, having done some air test comparisons of the V3i and DFX is to Turn off Salt Compensate unless necessary to stabilize the V3i while hunting in bad ground or EMI. It will dramatically lessen your depth capability otherwise. I hunt salt beaches and originally...

    from DFX to V3i

The V3i has better depth, at least by the air testing I've done the factory beach mode has at least 2 inches more (vs. the DFX). Never can tell how this will translate to actual depth on the beach however. I'm going to find out this coming week for sure. I hope it will make me continue lo be...

    from DFX to V3i

That goes for me also. One of the better features for me is that I can turn off Salt Subtraction with the V3i. The DFX always ran with SS on, which has a slightly negative affect on depth.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

That's OK Larry. I think we both were a little over our heads on this one. Myself especially! We've probably both learned a lot by trying to discredit the other's statements. I have learned some things but at this time will still disagree with anyone who states that for a given detector and coil...

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

Thanks Larry, but I already had a copy. I think if you had read it you would know that this book's focus is on building a hobby detector and not explaining why useful power to the coil is limited by the physics involved with the interaction of the ground and the target. I thought my question to...

On its way back to White's

I wish White's would man up and disclose the mfg. dates of the machines susceptible to this problem. I want to purchase one but not until I know this has been corrected! Shame on White's for letting their customers find out the hard way.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

Understood that the internal circuitry is microamp. I'm trying to understand how the performance of a coil operating @ 3v. max. can detect any where nearly as deep as a coil operating @ 10 v. Especially in high mineralized soil. I know that more is not always better, but in this instance it...

    Latest V3i finds - loving my V - 4 years with it.

Bruce, That's FANTASTIC! Congratulations are definitely in order!

    TPro is sitting

Rest and get well. I need some more feedback on the TM before I take the plunge. lol.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

Larry, Thanks for the response. I had worded that incorrectly. I did know that the voltage is not xmitted directly in the ground but the strength of the signal is a result of the voltage sent to the coil. Per Carl's writings about the V3, the additional 20v will get you about another inch of depth.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

Does anyone know how the TM/TP detectors transmit enough power in the soil to actually detect anything? I'm not electronics geek BUT it must be done by some type of step up transformer? The V3i transmits 10v from the coil, but it has a 12 V battery pack. The treasure pro only has (2) 1.5V...
