    I've found pieces before but this one is whole. Not much else some scraps of iron and a shotgun hull. Blessed to be able to hunt here this late in the year. Found at site guarded by Grant early in war. Had to straighten it a little.

    I can see nothing other than a patent date on this brass lock. It is very well made and has unusual keyhole configuration.

    Never expected to find one of these in Missouri. We've found cavalry, artillery, general service, even a dragoon but never thought to have a naval button on the list.
