The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

Shipping is the killer....I'm sure it's doubled since recent world troubles. Maybe shipping could be shared with a second buyer for the other coil? Anyhow, the two 8" BBS Tornado coils are still currently available and I will update this post if they sell. Thanks.

The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

I don’t need three spares that’s for sure. I’d be happy to sell off two but I’m in Australia and shipping might be pricy. Only need a small box though. You can PM me and let me know what your budget is. They have coil covers as well and 100% unused. Tony

The 8 inch Tornado cable problem

I have three new coils that all had the cable starting to perish.....the coils were brand new and still in their original bags. I have snipped off the bad cable and plan to re-cable and epoxy as per Joe's guide lines. Any white residue on cables is oxidation and the beginning of the cable...

    Needed info on Aquapulse detectors

Very easy to swap out the battery pack as it is usually in the bottom of the "cylinder".....often secured with hot melt glue. I had the AQ1B but I am sure the earlier models are a similar design. Just remember that the starting pulse delay (REJECT) begins at approximately 40uS......which means...

Made my own Coil “Cover” for the Dual Field’s 12” Spider Coil

Yellow is available in the tin version but the aerosol stuff seems to be taking over. My Excalibur coil is now yellow and my White's 950 dive coil which was originally yellow is now coated in yellow Plasti-Dip......like you mentioned, any potential cracks in the seems are taken care of really...

Made my own Coil “Cover” for the Dual Field’s 12” Spider Coil

Hello fellow Plasti-Dipper......I have been using this stuff for years and it holds up very well. The brush on Plasti-Dip from the tin is even better as you can layer it on thick and it will last a long time before touch ups are needed. Hard to get the tin version down here and they like to...

high gain and normal or low gain and sharp? which go deeper?

Sharp with the lowest gain will be more advantageous than Normal with the highest gain. If you can run in Sharp with little ground noise then most likely you can run a decent gain as well.......the limiting factor might be EMI in which case you may need to drop the gain. Sharp is a very...

high gain and normal or low gain and sharp? which go deeper?

Sharp and Normal timings generate a more powerful transmit field.....so yes, go for these timings and then adjust gain and other settings as needed. This principle works well for gold prospecting, assuming the ground isn’t heavily mineralised then the more powerful timings are the way to go. Tony

    Excalibur coil stabilizer

Hello all Has anyone come up with a decent design for a coil/loop stabilizer bracket for the Excalibur coil? Because the coil ears are flush with the side of the coil, the standard design doesn’t work (typical Whites style of loop stabilizer) Love the detector but the thin loop bolt provides...
