Just a little info, I eye-balled found a 14K St. Christophers medallion (dime size), 2.5 grams, tested it with My Safari and got a solid 10 id, Just a little info I wanted to pass along to fellow Safari users. sorry no pics.

10x12 sef coil on the way

I got a 10x12 sef coil on the way, I also have the 6x8 which I use 85% right now. I really like the way the sef coil separates in "iron" soil, so I'm hoping the bigger sef will perform just as well. I hunt a lot in "iron" soil and the pro (stock) coil is more suited for clean soil, IMHO. The...

    1st Gold for safari

Hit the beach today and got my 1st gold from the Safari, 1st gold ever too. It was down about 8-9" in the wet sand using the 6x8 sef coil. I was trying out the smaller coil in a heavily iron infested beach, A.C., NJ. It came up as a solid 14. It is a Womans black onyx cameo broach, 6.5 grams...

    Copper pennies are O.K.

Got out today for a few hours, no silver, just a bunch of clad. I've been hitting copper pennies at 37-38 on a regular basis which reminds me of using the Ace 250, I would notch out the penny icon to keep from digging zincs all the time. With the Ace, a dime signal would most times be a dime or...

    Coil covers

This may be a little funny but, I have the pro coil and 6x8 sef and didn't even know they had coil covers on them, I was just about to order some too..LOL, well anyway it's nice to know their there and clean them to remove any soil that might cause some possible false readings. I don't know if...

    First silver for 2011

I got out for about 2.5 hrs. today using the pro coil, got a 1943P War nickel, fair condition, it came up as a 12-13 signal. I also found about $1.50 in clad and a 1940 wheatie, (poor shape). The park has high trash density, found nickel about 4" down. It is my first silver nickel ever, first...

    Finally got out...

I got out for about 1.5 hrs today, I used my 6x8 sef coil, the ground was semi-frozen and hit solid ice after 3-4 inches in some spots. I only found .76 cents clad and the usual trash. I think I'm gonna use the stock pro-coil until the ground is completely thawed. This is a upgrade from my Ace...
