You are correct Alan Lit-Ion are not as problematic as LiPo's however they are not like using a alkaline batteries either and similar precautions should be followed for any Lithium based cells

Glad to have a new to me V3i...

This may help you a lot. If you're not a member of the Whites Forum, check it out, There is a ton of information available there for the V3i and very helpful people that are a lot smarter than I when it comes to setting up a V3i. Another thing to consider, is... A V3i setup for optimum in one...

New V3i 18650 battery holder. What U think?

Not a Good Idea and Highly Not recommended. This could stress the remaining two batteries. Definitely not a safe practice for Lipos in my opinion. I'm no expert though. Although I've been using them for over 5 years in numerous applications. 1. If using unprotected batteries maybe it could...

New V3i 18650 battery holder. What U think?

At 3.3 volts per cell a Lipo battery is considered 99.9-100% discharged and ready for recharging. I just monitor the battery voltage on the status line of the V3i and once it's near 10.5-10.75 Volts I know it ready for a recharge. The amount of additional run-time a person would get between...

Glad to have a new to me V3i...

In an attempt for you to learn what I had to learn the hard way. I think you'll find that setting RX gain lower and Disc higher will give you much better VDI stability for the deeper stuff and deeper target recovery. I rarely set the RX gain higher then 9 anymore. Rarely I may set RX gain at 10...

    V3i with Ultimate 13 coil

According to the one web site comparing the two. The Stock 10"D2 weighs 500g (1.1 Lb) and the, Detech U13 weighs (480g. 1.06 Lb). Although to me, the U13 feels heavier because of the weight is more forward throwing off the balance. As for depth in my soil I don't gain much depth advantage with...

Anybody besides me get program happy?

Initially I tried setting up multiple programs and found the need to modify too many setting on the fly to gain performance as conditions change. I've tailored tones and discrimination to my liking and adjust sensitivity, filters, transmit freq & recovery delay on the fly to adjust for...

New V3i 18650 battery holder. What U think?

You should also get approximately 20 hours hunt time. You could extent that even more with a pair of headphones. From the current table of ma draws for various configurations, Your V would draw 150ma in 3 freq mode 3000 / 150 = 20

After two years and a dozen detectors now have a v3i again

I would agree I have two V3i machines, I've tried others and There is No comparison in my opinion. I will add it's easy to really destroy the V's capabilities if you don't set it up right for your search area and It takes time to learn to use it and set it up right.

New V3i 18650 battery holder. What U think?

, New member here and Long Time User of Lipo Batteries. I purchased on of these and delivery time was about 12 days to Wyoming. Fits perfect. For those wondering how long the battery should last and a V3i. It is easily calculated. With Three Freq Mode and back light at full brightness the V...
