These detectors are made in Bulgaria. Does any one know more about them?

I have the Golden Mask 5. I have used it this past season quite a bit.
Does it work well...yes it does...is it better than anything else you can buy state side..not really. But the converse of that can be said overseas..plenty of good European made units that perform as well if not better than most US made machines...I mean Minelab, Nokta and XP are on top of the list of detectors used worldwide. So...you know...the Golden Mask is a nice detector but not something you cant equal locally.
I got it because it collapses down to a size I can fit in a back pack without taking the lower rods apart. I liked that. It is very quick for recovery time about as fast as most any detector I have used...suppose on some test bench others may be technically quicker but in the field it is fast in trash which I need. Depth is probably average for a detector in it's [price range...not going to match an Dues or maybe a 3030 in depth but it is not made for raw depth. So depth is on par for what you would expect from a detector between $600 to $800 with a fast recovery time.
I also like the meter that uses bar graph similar to Whites signograph....helps with pieces of rusty roof tin that give a fairly solid VDI but smears the graph.
Comes with wireless headphones that actually work well and rechargeable batteries for both detector and headphones....plus two coils.
Could I match the performance at price point with an American made unit...sure...it would have to be a Fisher or a Teknetics since Whites and Garrets to me still do not have really fast units like Tek or The Fish in that $600 range or so..thats just my experience trying them.
But the one thing was the ability to collapse to a backpack machine without tearing it apart. So I had a singular need and it fit.
However would I order one just to see if it did something better than I could source from a local dealer...nope. If I wanted something unique that isn't really a clone of something here I would probably try the New Rutus...I liked my older Rutus.
Thats just my personal experience...and I have used many machines over the past 35 years.
Great post!!! Thanks for the info!!azsh07 said:Then there are people who own them.....

The 5+ is a good machine but i had issues and had to return it for warranty work, then the headphones had to go back, the lower stem broke, then the top stem collar came loose, it's threaded but the shaft isn't so they are just glued on.
I sold it and bought a Rutus Alter 71, far better built and all the bells and whistles you'll need for 99% of your hunting, it's very similar to my deus in how it operates, but it's far better than the deus in modern rubbish ground, and it takes dd and cc coils, bonus!
