Target shape or target trace info

I love the target trace feature on the manticore that will sometimes help me see that I have two or three different targets under the coil as well as the general shape. What other detectors give information as to general shape??? I remember my Whites Spectrum XLT had the bar graph and two long bars was usually a round coin. Deus 2 has the XY line. What other detectors offer such insights?????? Thanks in advance

It "gets me" seeing Utube vids with smears across the conductivity line on a target, and still find an actual coin target. That blows my mind. A small circle is easily just a piece of small can slaw. This machine is not infallible in the least, IMPO.

Definitely true! It certainly isn’t x-ray vision but just another way to obtain information about what’s in the ground. I try to train my ears to spot subtle differences in tones and certainly the target ID helps but the 2d screen on the manticore has helped me see on several occasions that I was dealing with two or three separate targets under the coil and even that one was ferrous. It’s amazing on occasion to call that I have a penny and a nail beneath the coil and then dig a penny and a nail (and having obtained that information from the 2d screen). It has misled me before too on several occasions but I am a big fan of getting as much data as I can and then learning to interpret that data is the art.

I had a vertical streak thru my 2d screen, yet it sounded good, and 27 popped up every now and then. What did I dig up? A v nickel at 7 " and a small nail. Yes, aluminum often reads out as a round spot on the center line. But the ID number will tell you its a 99% chance its aluminum. A nickel reads 26-27 most of the time, the only aluminum that reads 27 is a tab that's separated from the ring.
The more I use the manti, the more I find and like it more. Its an amazing machine if you take the time to learn it.

Did you see any another signal after the nickel was in hand with the Manticore after digging? I won't pass up any 26-27 Vdi if it is repeatable at all. Honestly, I never rechecked a hole with the 2D display after finding a nickel.

The CTX had similar capabilities, I was disappointed when they {minelab} didn't follow thru with the concept on the Equinox, really dropped the ball in my opinion. I have come to the conclusion that the Manticore is a beast and my finds agree.

I'm reading if the smear goes from iron down to the middle and it turns. Depending which way it turns. Left or right.
Will indicate a good target. Right being good.
