Sometimes when the budget does not allow to buy detecting accessaries you have to get creative and think outside the box. Went to the beach all day yesterday and my home made detecting tools paid for themselves, about a $7.00 investment not including my time.
Hand scoop: old kitchen can, toilet plunger handle, grass trimmer line and some screws with a L brace, garden mesh , Price—-$1.00
Shovel— garden shovel on sale at Walmart. With some fishing line and garden mesh. Tools—drill, hand saw and angle grinder.
My finds totaled almost $7.00 without the jewelry, the diamond ring was a heart stopper, but unfortunately not real.
Will have to rest up and recover from my little excursion yesterday.
