Small silvers from the 1700's.cccI spent the last 3 months in Wiesbaden, Germany working as an advisor to the U.S. Army headquarters there, Got to do a little hunting. The bottom coin was found in the first week, and the top three in the last two weeks in the same field completely covered with small square nails (Horse shoe nails?)

I have an X-RAY spectrometer gun from my other job in strategic metals and you can see the silver/copper content of the coins.

Great old silver finds and very cool to see the elemental breakdown.
Few years ago, I pulled a tiny 1872 Prussian coin that was 22% silver which I thought was very odd, but I see the
composition of one yours is close to that.

Cool! My brother was stationed a few years in Wiesbaden. He was a crew chief on a CH-47 Chinook.

Manticore. It has the ability to pick out the targets in a sea of iron

Top on corresponds to the three top coins in the picture, while the lower silver corresponds to the small one at the bottom

I remember the Chinook, flew on them a few times. Was with the 41st FA in Babenhausen. Just a faded memory now. Wish I was into Md'n back then.

Nice old silvers, congrats. I think my oldest is 1886. Would love to dig some silver from the 18th century. Good luck.
