Bandito 2 and Eldorado u-max comparison

silverseeker 2

Well-known member
Really curious for you Guys or gals that have used both of these detectors why is the Bandito 2 seem to be the preferred machine? I own the
Eldo u-max that has netted me my best micro jewelry find right next to a steel bollard. The audio was one I had never heard before. I have never used the Bandito 2. I feel the Eldo. u-max is a really good detector.
Hope to hear some feedback on this subject as what you feel about
these 2 detectors. All is appreciated!

Actually after doing a little reading on older posts, I discovered that the disc. scale on the Eldorado has a wider range than the Bandido Ii.
The Eldorado disc. Is 180 whereas the disc. on the Bandido is 120.
If you do a search of Monte’s past posts, you will discover alot about the Tesoros in general as he writes about various model functions and comparisons…. Very informative..

I owned an Eldorado and found its audio quite unique. Gold nuggets gave a distinctive kind of buzz.
Unfortunately it didn't have a wide enough ground balance range in our bad ground in Australia. The concentric coil was useless. The DD was better but it still never got a proper gb here.

Smigo, Glad to hear your input about the Audio. Like I posted
the piece of jewelry I found had a distinct sound and was a Gold earring
with a Ruby stone in it. Thanks for your post!!!!

I had a Eldorado umax, 7 inch concentric coil on it. Took it to a few colonial sites, thing loved iron, falsed left and right. wasn't bad in the park but in thick iron forget it, at least that's my experience..

Had both the B2 and a couple of Eldo’s. In the ground I hunt the B2 is deeper also for me the audio tone is better on the B2. Sold the Eldorado’s and kept the B2’s. Of course this is just my opinion😀

I thought Monte said the E was deeper but he preferred the B2. Maybe it was the individual units. Rusty said they varied a little because of the electrical parts.

I've never owned either.
Though I can attest to the Compadre and Mojave.
Best in nails and small iron like most every Tesoro.
Really miss Monte.
What an encyclopedia of fantastic information. Rest in peace Monte.
Sorry Monte passed i remember some of his post, if anyone wanted to know about a certain machine..... ask Monte , i didn't know he passed Odanscoils

The B2 discs out more small iron where micro jewelry resides than the Eldorado, Compadre, and Mojave and thus is better at extremely small items. Monte liked the Bandido better because when set for small nails, the Eldo didn't discriminate as well. The Eldo also can shift frequency which the B2 cannot. I don't remember Monte saying that one was deeper than the other but I do remember him saying there was a difference between different detectors of the same model. He definitely liked the B2 better. I don't think you can go wrong with either. If I had an Eldorado, I doubt I would get rid of it and buy a B2. I do have a B2 and wouldn't get rid of it for an Eldorado but if an Eldorado comes by at a somewhat reasonable price, I probably will have one of them too.
